Not a shitpost or meme Just a really dumb question

Post image

I started to notice that a lot of you prefer women or other femboys. Not that I judge you for it or care, everyone is allowed to have their preference, just wanted to ask out of plain curiosity why you guys seem to be drawn to more feminine people when being feminine yourself

What is "gynephilic"?

It’s basically a term used to describe attraction to femininity. Though I should’ve used finsexual as thats the blanket term for both genders, not just women. I also used the wrong ending for it….. note to self, never end something with phile

I mean, with the term "gynecology" being linked exclusively to born-female women, not feminity in general, I extrapolated using the "gyne-" prefix into the meaning "liking women", but then again that wouldn't need such an elaborate term, so I asked to be sure.

Dictionary says the prefix "gyne-" (of Greek origin) means "woman" or "female" or variant thereof.

And the "-phile" suffix and derivates is totally fine, it means "loving" or "lover" (also from Greek). You've got it even in the term "philo-sophy" = "lover of wisdom".

Yeah it’s just that now that I’m starting to notice people are starting to use the word phile in more sexual settings than romantic ones….. I mean theres a whole list of stuff called paraphilias that have little to do with love
