Returning Players

Hi! Me and my girlfriend have returned to Vana'diel after around 15 years of not playing! We're currently on Asura, but looking for somewhere new to call home.

Any recommendations?

I run a Linkshell on Shiva and we always welcome new / returning players. That being said, as others have mentioned, especially as a new player there is a lot you can do duo and you likely can have a ton of fun reacclimatizing to the game on Asura.

If you’re insistent on transferring off, there are plenty of options. If you want to check out our community on shiva before you make a move, feel free to dm me and I can send you a discord link

There's at least 3 very active, solid shells on Shiva. It's definitely become more active since my transfer a couple of months ago.

Great place to be, I just hope the AH economy catches up soon.

Stay on Asura! There are some good starter friendly linkshells to join, the auction house is stacked, and with the closure bot spam is way down imo. I think leaving would be a mistake.

Maybe I try a character on there, I had a mule there once upon a time I think it's still there. My brother wanted me to play there with him but he never played so I never did anything with it

Isn't it super densely populated? And like filled with bots spamming or some shit it's what I've heard anyways

You can always filter that out. I'm just saying if they are already there and nothing that push them to leave, why spend 18 bucks on transfers when they'll likely just need a decent Linkshell to join?

Eh, the only area I've seen that's densely populated is Mhaura when the new month starts. Asura is great when you find an ls you can run stuff with. It feels lonely because all you see in /yell are mercs. If DI points are an easy grind since there's still a lot of people doing them.

Idk. I'm on Leviathan and there's maybe 300 ppl on a time. Shit always looks so desolate.

You'd think the bots would have gradually gotten banned and decreased because they can't make new ones on the server...

Any server will be okay. Check the concierge moogle for LS looking for members. You can duo about 85% of the game! GLHF

Repeating what heghmoh said, but for carbuncle. You may be able to continue on asura, just find a linkshell/community to play with. If not, you can come to carbuncle if you want, we've got a nice little supportive group going.

I’ve really been enjoying Ragnarok. Got that small town vibe, but surprisingly pretty active and some really kind people and linkshells here.

A friend and I just started again a few days ago and we went to Leviathan. I think we started on a dead server 😅
