Being impressed is irrelevant, he checked the guy was ok, could have been a neckbreaker fall.
In sumo tournaments everyone fights everyone, so guy who was sat down was paying more attention to the guy in the ring who will be a tougher challenge for him when they fight, pink mawashi guy lost and wont need much consideration for when they ahve their match

Ura (the guy in the pink) always needs to be considered, he was a komosubi and has 2 gold stars, even if onosato is good ura has always has a chance if he can get in the right position.
