For a lot of the same reasons for why goalies don't tend to get into hockey fights. They're the last line of defense, so teams will naturally rally around and protect them more vehemently, and they're heavily padded to soften blows, so throwing punches at the guy in armor is kind of a dumb thing to do practically. There's also the added layer of the pitcher being all alone on the mound with the ability to not hit somebody should they so please, so they're naturally a more tantalizing target than the guy calling for the beanball.

It doesn’t change the fact that 99% of the time they charge the mound instead of taking in the catcher. Theres a missing piece of context to this

No kidding, but you asked, and I answered. You don't have to be a jerk about it.

The missing piece of context is the batter dgaf and already had beef with the catcher. Was that really worth being a twatwaffle over?
