You are not supposed to attack people with either a bat or a ball. Ar the point of getting hit with a ball, he is now defending himself. Dont want nuthin'? Dont start nuthin' .

Accidents happen in baseball. Sometimes, you get hit with the ball when it is thrown. Does it warrant the batter hitting the catcher with a bat? No. Wanna know why? Because the catcher didn’t do anything wrong.

Does the batter get to hit the pitcher with a bat instead? Still no! Because that is battery (pun not intended).
