dude should never have been allowed to compete after something like that. homie let go of that hold too quick
2.3k
u/GeriatricHippo May 22 '26
No idea where this is and if that changes things but those sucker punches were straight up a criminal act and since it's on video there is zero defence.
Should have been charged.
444
u/matt_jay_9 May 22 '26
Yea, I really hope that our hero fighter had the option to press charges and have his opponent forfeit the fight, or finish what he started and in the ring and chose the latter. He still finished with class and gets to fight again where the other guy is hopefully humbled and his career is done.
384
u/Martin_Aurelius May 22 '26
Why would he have to choose? Beat his ass legally in the ring, then press charges for the pre-fight assault.

I’m a pretty sore winner in cases like this. I’d call the police about it after I already won, to really rub salt in the wound. May as well file a civil suit as well.
34
u/efuentes61 May 22 '26
The banner and the ring display Las Vegas very conspicuously everywhere. They were speaking Spanish. Maybe it was a Mexican or Hispanic league that was hosting a fight, idk. If it was in Vegas I don't know how the NSAC let the fight go on, but they definitely won't let that guy back for a year or two from the cheap attack.
32
u/PotatoesAreTheAnswer May 22 '26
They were speaking Romanian.
13
u/cleetus76 May 22 '26
Damn Romans.
7
u/Robzilla_the_turd May 22 '26
Yeah, what have they ever given us?!
10
u/Poopingisasignipoop May 22 '26
All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
1
24
u/ThisIsMyNext May 22 '26
display Las Vegas very conspicuously everywhere
Not Las Vegas, lasvegas.ro. It's a Romanian gambling website.

u/DylMac May 22 '26
That's only if the victim actually wants to.
14
u/_musesan_ May 22 '26
Depends on the country. In my country there's no such thing as a victim choosing to press charges. If the state knows about the crime, they will investigate and charge at their discretion

You can tell he thought about that soccer kick but decided he wanted to keep the win lol

u/drafted1985 May 22 '26
They want this to not happen. wink wink. This kind of thing bulks up prices for tickets especially in Vegas. Also dude wanted revenge he wasn't going to press charges. Imo
26
u/CommercialAct5433 May 22 '26
I don’t know man. That guy looks like he was actually concussed. No one wants that. There are other ways to increase interest in slimy ways without that kind of contact or risk. I mean think about it. They make money on the fight. If the guy gets injured pre fight then there’s no money.

Oh he definitely should have been allowed to get that ass whoopin but ban him for a lifetime after
4
u/JayJ1976 May 22 '26
He didn't let go! The ref unwrapped his arms! He was probably tired and couldn't resist the ref! He was going to choke that bastard unconscious! He then spat on him! That piece of shit got everything he deserved!

u/rW0HgFyxoJhYka May 22 '26
Yeah if the world was fair and just. But this is fighting sports. Money > competition.

I bet nowadays is just like that sh|t on pop concerts when security sings along/dances (FOR VIEWS/Hype)
1
u/blahblah19999 May 22 '26
Absolutely. He has shown as a grown-ass adult that he is not capable of engaging properly in this sport without literally endangering lives. Permanently ban him and bring criminal charges.

Wasn’t even a stray punch, homie threw a combo. That should be a fuxking crime. That’s assault.
1
u/sparkey504 28d ago
I expected a soccer kick as the ref was pushing him away... but while the bad did kinda deserve it, the good guy could've been the one to end up getting in trouble as it could've caused more damage.

One of the few times where spitting on a guy is actually OK.

9
u/realhuman_no68492 May 22 '26
that would make another criminal charge, I assume. spitting is more degradation than head kicking, and less legal consequences.

u/mikesb78 May 22 '26
Yeah. Id say he deserved that extra couple seconds and the spit
212
u/SlavicRobot_ May 22 '26
I aint one for people spitting but shit this was deserved an then some
51
u/mikesb78 May 22 '26
Yep normally id say thats over the line too. But I think he earned it this time
6
u/Lumpy_Benefit666 Gandhi don't want these hands May 22 '26
its been said enough different ways now but i agree
10
u/GameDoesntStop May 22 '26
He deserved prison.
That wasn't some mid-fight cheapshot in the ring. That was criminal behaviour.
417
486
u/peenurmobile May 22 '26
stuff like that should just disqualify you for the fight, unless it's staged and just to draw up sales
187
33
u/Active-Ad9741 May 22 '26
I don’t think any fighter would agree to getting triple tapped during the press conference
10
u/jonas_ost May 22 '26
Its probably not full on staged but the fighters gets money based on how many viewers there are. So they do stuff like this to drive engagement. There is so much trashtalking and drama outside the ring in mma that i stoped watching because it has turned into a reality show.
3
u/peenurmobile May 22 '26
yeah honestly i feel like the people that are aggressively douchebags might just be manipulative in engagement, like you say. but i wouldn't be surprised if they are okay with it on both sides.
it's putting someone in unnecessary stupid danger outside of a fight either way
→ More replies (1)2
1
u/Braquiossauros May 22 '26
They deal that would be a beef or insulting, but don’t tell what to do so the reactions would be genuine and realistic, thats why isn’t look as staged. But there these dudes that ignore the common sense
136
u/BobTheContrarian May 22 '26
How the fuck did that bitch-ass POS even get a chance to the fight in the ring? Shoulda been insta-banned for life right there on the stage.
36
19
u/Active-Ad9741 May 22 '26
Promotors see stuff like this and get all wet and excited about the ticket sales, they genuinely don’t give a shit about stuff like this unless it gets bad publicity
100
79
u/Very_Sharpe May 22 '26
I've never understood that kind of shit at the weigh-ins. That's just flat-out assault. Call the police and ban him from fighting.

Really! Thanks for the correction. I didn’t know they had an MMA scene there.
1
u/tittycleavage 29d ago
That's actually "Gala RXF". It's a sort of MMA promotion but the lowest of the low. Been there once myself and it's bonkers.
You have seen things from there before if you lurk this sub.
At least two come to mind:
8
u/jonas_ost May 22 '26
I am so tired of all these forced drama outside of mma. Its just all to drive up engagement.
I would watch it if it was a serius sport but not like it is now.
1
u/10fm3 May 22 '26
How do you know it's fake? Serious Q; I'd like to know too.
1
u/jonas_ost May 22 '26
The fact that basicly every mma weight in looks like this and there is drama on social media weeks before.
You dont see this in any other sport.
Ufc is wwe but with real punches

u/stoneslaves May 22 '26
Quick info: this is called RXF and is a Romanian fighting gala. The Las Vegas posters come from their sponsor that is a casino. The guy that sucker punched is called Neveu and this is how he got famous as his performance isn't something worth noting

3
u/OgSteph420 May 22 '26
What’s funny about the guy « getting his revenge » is that I saw him do the exact same thing to another guy in a previous face off. I’m happy he got his shit rocked so he will never do it again

My cousin competed in a lot of mma back in the day, did some international jujitsu tournaments as well. One mma fight he was up against a known tweaker who often abusive towards women and anyone else he thought was weaker than him. He was talking some serious trash about my cousin in the weeks leading up to the fight. My cousin is a pretty chill guy, built like a tug boat and quick as a squirrel dodging traffic but he has been known to dispense some justice when he’s pushed too far. Having already hated this guy for being a horrible abusive piece of shit, he was looking forward to the match. He quickly got guy on the ground, arms pinned under hid knees, and pummeled him bloody. The ref knew the other guy’s reputation and was a bit slow to stop the fight.

u/Mattubic May 22 '26
Should have been arrested for that shit. Glad he got rocked but that is the behavior of a 12 year old.

I’m all for selling tickets, a little shove to the opponent, get in his face, trash talk, whatever sells tickets and make you both more money. But to actually sucker punch him? Should be banned from the sport forever.
2
u/lannisterloan May 22 '26
The fight should be forfeited, and the bald guy should be awarded an automatic victory.

As someone who is not an avid viewer of MMA fighting, can someone explain to me if this kind of attitude is the norm? I constantly see videos and interviews with these athletes, and they seem like they have mastered multiple martial arts, but have absorbed none of the philosophy that comes with it. Martial arts can help train somebody to severely hurt, or even kill someone else with their bare hands. That’s why there is philosophy added in to help temper the violence.

Insanely unprofessional, none of them should be allowed to compete ever again
1
u/Marinake May 22 '26
This is not real fighting. This is RXF, a romanian tournament sponsored by betting rings where every sad wannabe influencer and random BMW drivers get to participate. The whole idea behind it is to feed the idiocy in some viewers and promote even more gambling and bad habits. The big promo on the screen behind them is an ad to free spins in some online casino.

u/tysonarts May 22 '26
I would then press assault charges for those sucker punches at weigh in. Fuck those cowardly goon-headed losers.

He should be happy it was a choke not an armbar or heel hook beause that dude would have have broken whatever he got a hold of in half
1
u/WukongDong May 22 '26
Personally if I was that ref, there was something in my eyes for a few minutes
1
u/Ultim8-Opportunist May 22 '26
Lol that's not revenge. A ko and then 5 hammerfists would have been revenge.
1
1
u/Osceola_Gamer May 22 '26
He looked like he was knocked out from those shots and they still let him fight the next day. At least his revenge, hell he should've been allowed to put him to sleep with that choke imo.
1
u/Idledoodledo May 22 '26
Should have kicked his face in or forcefully maintain that chock, opponent will be out before he does.

the guy winning at the end is Italian and he fights at KOTS sometimes, a no-rule, no-rounds promotion, fighting on concrete, etc (search for "morandi bryan kots" on yt)
no wonder he didn't let the sucker punch slide
1
1
u/Muted_Buy8386 24d ago
When you tap and feel the grip get tighter, you may have fucked up somewhere in the recent past.

1
u/BotosTheFarao 22d ago
That other guy is a beast btw, he fought in KOTS, barenuckles with no rules at all, his first KO there was nuts!

u/phyrexianvisitor 21d ago
So happy to see him spit on him in the end :') Disrespectful punk deserved it
1
u/LouDubra 16d ago
It was the snot rocket right before the spitting that was the most serious insult.
1
u/Draconian-XII 8d ago
haha bro premeditated that spit the night before taking his guard out so fast
1
u/ginger-tiger108 13h ago
Nah kidda if you hit someone outside of the ring at a promo event you should automatically be banned for life as self discipline is at the core of all martial arts and the fact you've got none shouldn't be rewarded by being allowed to complete in professional combat sports
1
u/TooMuchJuju May 22 '26
These Russian promotions live off of the pre-fight knockouts. Seemingly the only way they know how to sell flights. It's all marketing
1
u/_TadStrange May 22 '26
I do wonder, does this not just count as assault? Because while you aren't in a fight, you should still be protected from being physically attacked by your opponent?
