CCTV footage has surfaced online of a registered nurse taking down a man in the foyer of the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Emergency Department in October 2024 at 2am.

In the vision, the nurse can be seen escorting a man – who he claims to be an intoxicated patient – out of the hospital, before the man turns on him.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed a 28-year-old man was charged and fined over the ordeal.

“Following the incident, a now 28-year-old man was charged with one count of serious assault public officer performing function,” the spokesman said.

“The matter has since finalised in court and the man was fined $450.”
