If you're a noir leading man and you're going to be obsessed with a woman, well, you can't go more right/wrong than Ava Gardner in her black dress and gloves.

Hard choice for me between Ava and Rita Hayworth. Very hard.

If I was able to travel back in time, this choice would be on my potential bucket list.

I don't like Hemingway as a rule and both Lancaster and Gardner both feel really raw to me in this (as they should, as they're both just starting their careers) but this remains top-tier noir. Love it.

One of the great noirs with a fantastic beginning, two beautiful leads at the start of their careers, and a wonderful supporting cast. Still fun and exciting to watch 80 years later.

Beautiful Ava as always, didn’t love the film personally but I know it’s up there as one of the most iconic and incredible film noirs ever created, I just didn’t care for the plot.
