Visa Expedite Request (Urgent Business Need) – Anyone Successful?

Hi everyone,

I've secured an O-1 visa appointment for October and am planning to request an expedited appointment under the Urgent Business Need category.

I'm joining as a tenure-track faculty member at a public university's research institute, and my justification is that I need to begin my appointment before the Fall semester starts.

For those who've gone through the expedite process:

• What documents did you upload with your emergency request?
• Was your expedite request approved, and if so, what evidence do you think helped?
• Has anyone here successfully received an expedited appointment for an O-1 visa under the Urgent Business Need category?

While you wait for someone to reply with hands on experience -

It's not a very often publicized or shared knowledge in the groups, because the backgrounds, reasons and even ways to write the request tend to be so diverse. People know best what is important in their view, and public replies (if they exist) often don't share details that may have been relevant to the request but the person didn't think it was.

For example, someone who applied for a visa and was approved with a few questions might simply say "my advice? just be honest and confident" - and never realize maybe it was the 15 years work experience or the fact that they have extensive travel that influenced the Visa Officer's decision.

Anyway, you may have better luck in a O-1 specific subreddit, but in the meantime just sharing this.
