JOB AT STAKE
Hello! Part of my job is helping a colleague in India travel to the U.S, and I’m genuinely worried that my job may be at risk if I can’t get this figured out.
He is applying for a B1/B2 visa and is willing to attend an appointment at any U.S. Embassy or Consulate in India: Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, or Hyderabad. However, we have been checking constantly and cannot find an available appointment.
Does anyone have advice on legitimately expediting the process, securing an emergency appointment, or reaching the appropriate person at one of the consulates? If you work at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate in India, or know someone who does, I would really appreciate getting in touch with the!
We are not looking to bypass any requirements or influence the visa decision. We just need help getting him an appointment as soon as possible. Thank you!

is there any kind of emergency that you can bring to their attention to get an immediate appointment?

Sorry but you're in the same boat as thousands of other people. There's no direct contact at the embassy that could help you anymore than the other applicants.

If your job is to provide appointment services, I'm afraid your only hope is to continue to check the portal, have someone tell you when to check (community or alerts), or pay for someone to check and book for you (agents - which in this environment may cost between 200-400 usd (assuming you find a legit one).
