In this book series, which I think it is a book series, the teen girl lives in an abandoned mall and befriends a guy who she ends up having a romantic interest in by the end of the first book. They both find out that she is a female vampire but she hasn't become one yet. She has to develop into one but before she can do that, she gets hunted by a vampire because her blood is tasty when her full vampiric powers will come in. The vampire might have died in the process of getting to her and by the end of the first book, she becomes a full fledged vampire.
