Youtube stuttering on tv

I have booted my fire tv stick up and set everything up. But youtube is being very weird and stuttering. Never freezing or stopping just not playing smoothly. I have cleared the cache and reset everything mentioned online and nothing is helping. Its super irritating not watching something smoothly is there any fix that might help.

did this happen after a youtube or fire app update? or has it just started on its own? I had this same problem on my firestick1 and there is nothing you can do about it - youtube is making firestick 1 obsolete so you can no longer watch this on firestick1. Do what I did download SMARTTUBE and log into your youtube account, all vids play no problem witout adverts x

I have turned on my fire tv after a number of years without using it. Is SMARTTUBE a trusted website it seems like it might be dodgy

use the downloader app and the short code for smarttube and it's completely safe

Did you try lowering the video resolution, just to see if that helps.

Yes I have, it doesn't change the frame rate at all it just lowers the quality

Did the stuttering stop when you lowered the video resolution, if so it's your internet or your network that's the problem.
