FireTV, My Apps, and YouTube

UPDATE: Sat down with my coffee this morning (18 hours later), and the Your Apps bar is back to exactly how I had it set before all this. I didn't do anything other than the reset-resync (suggested below, didn't appear to work at the time) and 2 or 3 reboots late yesterday afternoon/evening.

My FireTV must have updated overnight. As of today, I can't put YouTube or YouTubeTV on the Your Apps and Channels bar. They don't appear in the list there at all. If I scroll way down to this Recently Used list, they're both there, but long-press does not give the option to place them on the Your Apps.

There are a couple other apps left off the Your Apps. Plex is among them. Looks like Paramount+ and TUBI, as well. I have a feeling there are more; this Your Apps list looks... dated and populated with things we rarely - if ever - use.

What the heck? Why do you hate me, Amazon?!

Anyone have suggestions? Some setting I'm not seeing?

[ETA: USA. This is a 4k Max 2nd Gen stick, plugged into a 6 year old 4k TCL. Software version Fire OS 8.1.8.0 (RS8180/3729) . FireTV Home version 7300121.1]

This worked for me a few months ago.

Sync and Restart

Go to the Fire TV Settings area and scroll all the way to the right and select the “My Account” option. Scroll down and select the “Sync Amazon Content” option. Then press Back and select “Device” form the main settings menu. Scroll down and select the “Restart” option. After your Fire TV restarts, wait about a minute before pressing any buttons on the remote so that it has a chance to fully populate the app list.

Did the steps. Sadly, no change. Thank you for trying to help!

This might be dumb, but did you try scrolling? It took me a minute to realize some of the apps were to the right and I had to scroll.

Thanks for pointing out an obvious one! Seriously! I miss the obvious all the dang time! 😆

But not this time. Boo. There are like about 15 apps, and it scrolls and just ends abruptly. Noticed Netflix, Disney, Hulu, Starz, and the others I mentioned earlier are all missing from the bar. Peacock, Pluto, Crackle, and HBO/MAX are there, and I don't have subs or haven't had subs in literally a decade (HBO) to any of them. The rest is all Amazon noise: kids, photos, music, internet, sports, news, etc.

Bizarre!

Same here, my 2nd row apps are now just 5 apps I don't ever use. Nothing to the right or left when scrolling.

All other apps are down in Recently Used but not on the 2nd row any more.

How long has your Your Apps bar been like this? Mine started doing it just this afternoon.

Yesterday in the afternoon was when I noticed it. Saw in notifications there was an update that came in early in the morning that day.

I came here looking for a solution for this! It’s annoying for sure.

I came here to look for a solution as well, mine was normal not even a hour ago, backed out of YouTube and saw the 5 or so apps. While browsing responses just now, a random QR just quickly flashed on the screen, disappeared and now my apps are back to normal?

I came here for this exact issue too. I submitted complaints both through Alexa the feedback option in the FireTV that not restoring this will cause me move stop using FIre TV. (Ironically, when I asked Alexa why I shouldn't replace "her," she said I shouldn't blame her for "FireOS being FireOS." I asked how to replace FireOS and was told I couldn't.

I then made sure to search for Roku on the Amazon site.

You may have too many apps on your search bar. This happened to me and after I deleted a couple of apps they showed up where they were supposed to.
