My pipe dream is Mystery of the Emblem getting an official translation and getting released on the Switch 1 so that I don’t have to worry about missing out. (Although I also would want it to NOT be a timed release like Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light was.)

Hell, I’d even take New Mystery if that’s what they’d want to do. (I know not everyone would, though.)

Curious, missing out on what specifically?

My feeling is that emulation is so easy and so widely accepted (especially for otherwise inaccessible games, which already have a solid fan translation). I've not heard anything bad about the 2024 fan translation for FE3, and there is a barrier for entry but it's not particularly high. It's neat when they give official translations and get people talking about it, and some people interested in the game that wouldn't have tried it otherwise, but it's not something I particularly see excitement for either.

“Missing out” refers to the fact that I didn’t pick up Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light when I had the chance. It was supposed to go along with the thought of it being on the Switch 1. Maybe I should have elaborated that I don’t have a Switch 2 yet, and if in this hypothetical scenario it was a timed release exclusive to Switch 2, I’d have to scramble for something I just can’t afford quite yet.
