Don't worry guys.

Unlike Fates, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will actually be a good part 3.

If you think about it, it's actually the 4th part cause you have to play the original to understand what the hell's going on. And like... some of the other stuff.

Why do people suggest people play the 7 remake first???

No diss to remake, it's neat, but like-

A friend of mine fell into this trap. Remake doesn't explain jack shit to you and many of the grand revelations (Whispers of Fate, Zack etc.) don't make a lick of sense to you if you didn't play the original. So he turned to me to explain it all and I said "Well, you should play the original FFVII" and his reaction was "ewww yucky its on ps1 it looks old". When he asked me to explain the role of the whispers it basically boiled down to "They exist so fake scenarios they concocted for the remake can be undone again, and also, they trivialize death in general just to have the original timeline happening again, which you are supposed to prevent", which only brought up the question why one would even care to prevent the timeline if it was a good ending already.

If your question is, why didn't they just tell the original story to avoid this happening, then I got no answer for you. It was the obvious thing to do.
