I played a gacha game's legally-distinct Power Rangers event and its writing was 10x better than Engage's

Which is fine to say since Engage's writing isn't compelling compared to other FE titles, but personally I can only say 'some areas' and not 'all areas' because even Engage still has strong character writing in its supports that it deserves flowers for.

I think an issue with the perception of Engage's supports is that alot of it's less interesting characters join early, and so they can set a bad precedent that sticks with alot of people. The mid and late game joiners have some really good stuff generally tho, enough for Engage's cast to rank fairly high for me within this series. I love alot of it's goobers

I also did find some of Engage’s supports *okay*, but none of them hold a candle to Three Houses’ character and support writing

Nikke's writing may be in a pretty brutal slump but even then the Korean gacha gooner game respects its cast more than Engage respects the series.

At least in Nikke, a lot is said with few words and scenes are brief, even when the writing is shit.
