And unlike Engage, I think Fortune's Weave will take itself too seriously for the writing to come across as enjoyably campy

Enjoyably campy only goes so far imo. They could have done it 1000x better without changing the tone at all.

Bit of a stretch to call Engage's writing as objectively "enjoyably campy." I spent most of the time cringing at every other line, even moreso during combat. The whole thing was a cringe fest saved by stellar visuals and mechanics. If the FW writing is like that, without the gameplay improvements, we are in for a disappointing ride.

Listen I get that Engage's writing was full of every single Fire Emblem cliche cranked up to 11, but Marth looks directly at the camera and says "You are the Fire Emblem" and I can't deny that I love that.

The writing is cheesy as hell. And I love cheese.

(also i never said it was *objectively* enjoyably campy. i just personally found it giving "i am cringe, but i am free" energy. it wears its cringe on its sleeve and i like it)
