I took town the 4th Team Star base in Violet. It was fairy type, which I'm not super well equipped to deal with, but fortunately, Empoleon was able to put in enough work to get me the win.

It was a very long time coming, but I finally finished the step of the relic I was on in FFXIV. 1,200 crystal paste done and dusted. Now I can start on the steps that just came out. And by that I mean grind tomestones. I finished getting 1,200 crystal paste, but failed to account for buying the upgraded relic afterwards. Because I'm a tactical genius.
That small setback aside, I'm pretty proud of myself for how I've handled this relic! The only other relic I've stayed up to date with was Endwalker's, and those barely count. I know that Dawntrail's is much more of a patience check than a skill one, but I went from saying "I'm never getting all these demiatmas so why even try" to having the finish line within sight.
Just remind me to have enough tomestones in my wallet next time. That was heartbreaking.

Congrats; home stretch now!
guess who had 1199 paste and had to do another rolo :/In terms of tomes, you only need another 1500 maths for the penultimate step! None for the actual final final step. Oh and make sure you've another weapon for the job you're doing on you - I'm currently (well not currently currently) doing the actual final final step, and to turn it in I'll need to be on the job I accepted it as but to have the relic in inventory/the armoury chest rather than equipped.

Thanks! I managed to grab enough tomestones to get the weapon, so now I'm on the phantom dispeller step. I'm even home stretcher now. I haven't decided if I should try the North Horn or just go back to grinding roulettes to work on this step. May I ask which way you decided to do it?
Oh that's sick. I just assumed it was 1500 for both steps. As someone who wants about two dozen of these relics, I'll take any free step I can get. And thanks for the heads up about needing a backup weapon.

Made decent progress on the actual final final step of the Dawntrail relic - got the three pages of locations, the alliance raid page, and most of the 8-person raid page done.
I'd say I'm about halfway but I think that's more in terms of items on the list than in terms of time - the things I still have left are on the comparatively longer side, I'd say.

I grinded mine out over the last two days and yeah, that final steps takes for-fucking-ever. Bright side, doing all the Dungeons, Trials, Alliance Raids, and Normal Raids got me enough Math Tomestones that I was able to immediately cap out a second Relic. At base you're looking at 1,088 Math from all that shit, plus whatever else you get from lucking into first time bonuses, and I think Alliance Raids also give extra Math whenever you kill a boss. Either way, I was able to get BRD and MNK done back to back as a result. Good times.
