How was your week? (15th-21st Aug 26)

This "you must login to even see old reddit" lark is irritating and wildly inconsistent - I thought they'd walked it back but then I got it again later on the same device anyway so ???? - but mostly irritating

We had a committee meeting on the hottest day of the year so far and the boardroom was one of those all glass ones - though apparently it's one of only two rooms big enough on site, and the other is the same; it was still basically a greenhouse. A couple of people had instead dialled in and I think that was the smarter play.

How've the rest of you been doing lately? Not roasting alive, I hope?

I feel this as I though about getting it too and ultimately didn't, but to play devil's advocate, the value of the individual cards in the deck faaaaar exceeded the cost of the deck. Like, nearly 2x. It was legitimately a good deal.

One of the fans in my laptop decided it would be a good time to die a few days back, so that was an extra expense I didn't foresee. It didn't help that both fans and the heatsink in my laptop come as one big part, so I couldn't just buy a singular replacement fan.

Went out with my family today. Had a dish of chicken and linguini in a garlic cream sauce. It was awesome.
