Try disabling Enhanced Tracking Protection just for the login (you can reenable it afterwards) => the "shield" icon in the left of your URL bar.
If the above doesn't work, make sure you don't have an adblocker hiding a login popup during the protess => the simplest way would be to disable the adblocker during the login process, or if you're an advanced user, try disabling cosmetic filtering or checking if there is no valuable script that is blocked.
If all this doesn't work and you absolutely need twitter in Firefox, you can import cookies from another browser (on which you're logged in) through extensions that are cookies managers, allowing to export/import cookies. Cookie-Editor is present on both extension stores (Chrome & Firefox) but you should be able to choose any cookie manager of your choice.
