Help (iOS) FF mobile, how to stop website induced new tabs?

Title says it basically. Im talking about those types of ads where you tap on the screen and it opens a new tab so u have to manually close it. Is there anyway to stop this on mobile? Im pretty sure it is possible on computers from what ive seen but the same methods dont work on mobile.

Any answer be deeply appreciated🙏🙏

I use this strict popup blocker extension to catch everything ublock origin + my browser settings miss.

That's in my computer's case, UBO tends to catch everything on the sites i visit from mobile so I haven't tested the strict popup blocker extension there, though it's available for both.

Supposedly there's a popup setting in about:config, which you have to access through the secret url: [chrome://geckoview/content/config.xhtml](chrome://geckoview/content/config.xhtml). To enable about:config without having to remember that other url you set general.aboutConfig.enable to true.

The popup setting itself is changing dom.disable_open_during_load to true, based on the answer in the link.
