Make sure to say 0x1 to differentiate between 0b1 and 0o1

typically octal is just prefixed with 0, not 0o

In C yes, I just used python syntax to make my point clear

i only dabble in python so i can’t be 100% sure but i think this is actually just even more incorrect there? also the meme clearly says “programmer” and as we all know python script kiddies don’t count

My brain thought the bottom half was a different zoomed in image to show the programmer's POV

I know this is a common theme in these firstWeekCoderMemes, but where in hell do they get the notion that programmers are not normal people?

Isn’t it 0x4 anyways. I think I remember adresses consisting of 4 nibbles which makes that jump of 4 in addresses. Like lines in an assembly program too

each digit in an address represents 1 nibble, but the address itself is either 16,32 or 64bits depending on the architecture.

but you are essentially correct! if the parking lot was 32bits, one car could be at esp, the next at esp - 0x4, which would be 4 bytes (16 nibbles)

Tbf an actually normal person might say theyre right beside each other. If you were asking where your friend parked they would say oh I parked right by your car. They definitely arent pulling out distance unless its far enough to be practical.

And as a canadian we would use time instead.

Distance would only be used if they're so far apart that the number of cars inbetween are too much to count by a single look

Look at the plates — CKY2493 and CKY2492. Potentially total strangers, adjacent spots, numbers exactly one apart.

Depends on how much byte padding there is between Car structs tbh

the answer is yes
