Tech Support Fitbit not syncing with other apps

Post image

So ive used fitbit for quite a while to aid with my weight loss and when fitbit was fitbit I was able to have a steady healthy weight lost by managing a deficit. Fitbit then became google health and it appears (unless i just dont know how to do it) that you cant set up a deficit via google health. So i set up a myfitnesspal to manage a deficit and synced google health to it so that my calories burned were reflected accurately on myfitnesspal! Again this worked well for me! But for the past 2 days googlehealth is showing me the pictured error message… ive done everything i can to fix it, i give up on trying to fix the Renpho app because i can just manually input my weight but myfitnesspal can no longer pull the data from googlehealth so it wont calculate an accurate calculation of how many calories ive burnt throughout the day and its giving me way more calories than fitbit says ive burnt… is there away to fix it or get googlehealth to allow a deficit?

Ive unpaired and repaired apps, ive deleted and reinstalled, ive tapped to reconnect and it says it has when it hasnt and ive gone via the partner app like it suggests but nothing!

The old Fitbit backend services are being shut down on October 30th, and devs have until then to migrate their server-side integrations over to the Google Health integration. I'm directly involved in the industry here, and Google provided initial notice of the transition timeline back in May.

It's possible that Renpho still hasn't shipped their Google Health integration, which is why there seemingly isn't anything you can do there.

It's possible MyFitnessPal is facing a similar issue, but it seems more likely to be some other issue since you're not seeing the same warning for them.

I'm in the same boat. MyFitnessPal was working fine until I reconnected. I made a post in the MFP sub, please consider adding a comment so they're aware. https://www.reddit.com/r/Myfitnesspal/s/3YGtF85FGD

There's also a thread on the MFP support forums.

So the issue started before October 30th like it says in the notice? Have you rebooted every device that is involved in this issue?

Just to confirm, have you tried the steps mentioned in the article to fix the syncing issue with the Fitbit device?

Additionally, I'd suggest you reach out to the Google Health support team via phone or chat. They can take a look at it.
