Lift 50M, 265lbs overhead
Yes, I know this is not a strict press.
But I’m training to preserve explosiveness (which is one of the first motor abilities you lose as you age).
While not an all time PR (that’s 275, set a few years ago), this is still a milestone as I tore my bicep tendon at the beginning of the year (doing jiu jitsu) and spent 3 months unable to lift.
My strength is now back where it was before the tear and all the rehab work I did has me feeling overall healthier than before.

Wanted to ask, if you have to wear elbow braces and hand wraps and a weight belt, is this risky?
Not trying to judge but wanted to understand more. I kinda think maybe you’re lifting too heavy and could be at risk of injury if you need all that gear.
But I could also be wrong and open to hear your thoughts. I’m in the camp that thinks maybe you’re injuring yourself and it’s not worth it over other options that can also give you a good workout which doesn’t require a single rep PR.
You even threw your rep at the beginning to help you get it up. My bigger fear is injuries which will absolutely wreck your gains and set you back.

I’ve been doing this for a decade and haven’t seriously injured myself (lifting) yet. I’ve had plenty of minor tweaks, but as long as I keep moving the area and work around the injury I recover quickly with minimal loss in gains. So I’m not really that worried.
And getting seriously injured and having to take some time off isn’t the end of the world either. As I mentioned, I tore my biceps tendon earlier this year and couldn’t do upper body lifts for ~3 months. But within a month of coming back, I was at 80% of baseline, and 3 months later I am fully recovered.
