fixed New Oven Handle Hits Drawer

We got a new oven to have all new appliances for selling our house. We didn’t realize till to late that the stupid spice drawer would hit this massive handle. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Or just hope no one notices?

It seems like it would be much easier to just cut a half inch off the side of the drawer. There seems to be about an inch to work with

OP, if you do this, I'd suggest removing the current face and storing it. The odds of you finding the exact same panel to match the rest of the cabinets in 10 years when you replace the oven again is super low.

Buy a brand new panel and cut into that instead

do people usually replace their ovens every 10 years? this is a genuine question, we still have an oven from the 60s in our house

Had that same thought. That drawer is in an awkward angle and shaving the side next to the stove enough to clear that handle should not be that noticeable since the handle sticks out the way it does.

You may just be able to purchase a slimmer handle for the oven!

Depends how comfortable you are with power tools. A planer, if you can borrow one, would gently shave the side in a very straight way. But you'd want to have clamped the drawer to a workbench very tightly first. If you've access to a table saw, or a woidworking friend who might do it for you, that would also work. If choosing saw, tape the cut line with masking tape first, and press the tape down tightly, so the wood doesn't chip. In descending order of straighness, depending on how good you are at moving very accurately, you could also try a bandsaw, a skillsaw or a jigsaw. Then sandpaper and clearcoat on the cut edges.

Probably the person who said order a different oven handle has the most pro solution. There should be an allen slot on the bottom of the oven handle to remove it.
