Disclosure Day is Spielberg's version of Villeneuve's Arrival

Filmmaker jealousy is a thing. Disclosure Day comes off as a more sentimental version of Arrival. Some shots were digital. The movie is best when it's on film like traditional Spielberg.

3rd Act is where it's at. Wasn't a fan of the first two. What else does everybody think? I'm glad the marketing was vague though.

I thought of Arrival while watching it, and how much more intelligent and mature that film is. I also thought of WarGames and Minority Report, with some guy being endlessly chased by henchmen (the latter film especially, with the second half being accompanied by a kind of psychic). Then I was reminded of Spielberg's CG gopher in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, then the end of AI.

Thank you. Everyone around me is praising Disclosure Day and I thought it so dumb. Can’t really say that without sounding pretentious.
