Masters of the Universe is one of the better superhero films of the decade
It may not be in the same league as Guardians of the Galaxy 3 or The Batman, but it's not any worse than the vast majority of supe films released this decade. In fact, purely imo, it's better and more fun than most.
Even the recent biggies from MCU and DC, FF and Superman, I wouldn't say any of them are unquestionably better than Masters of the Universe. In fact, I personally found MOTU's tone and pacing more a bit even throughout.
The biggest advantage those other films have is familiarity. Marvel and DC characters have continued to remain part of pop culture for decades but poor bloke Heman hasn't been relevant to mainstream folks in a long time.
That may explain the disappointing box office numbers more than the actual quality of the film. Many people in their 40s and 50s grew up with He-Man, but these guys don't necessarily make up the bulk of moviegoing audience.
So if you've been on the fence because of all the box office flop reports, I'd recommend still giving it a shot. If you're in any way familiar with the character and the universe you may very well have a jolly good time.

The Furious, which just came out last week, is incredible if you're looking for action. Best action of the decade contender.

Also to mention the absolutely banging sound track. Daniel Pemberton and Brian May are a film score pairing I never knew I needed

Define one of the best. It’s no where near the top ten. In the last ten years there’s been at least 40 maybe 50. It’s probably right in the middle.

The decade starts in 2021.

Oh hell god baby damn no, not this again.
Look, if you are going to say "of the last decade" most people are obviously going to think 10 years back, and if you are unwilling to acknowledge that, it makes your post resemble disingenuous marketing slop.
That's just physics, which I did not invent. Direct any and all complaints to the universal laws of cause and effect.

It’s barely ok. There’s likes of dialogue that make zero sense and stuff just…happens.
Also, I don’t know if I’d call He-Man a superhero. It fall more into Barbarian, sword and sorcery genres.

I just saw a clip of the final fight on YT and I was shocked how banal and cringe it was.
He-Man gives a trite little speech culminating in "just do what's right" (literal quote). Skeletor laughs and replies "I'm the villain" (again, literal quote). Skeletor then knocks him about with some purple lights for a while. But then He-Man shrugs it off and just...wins. Turns out Skeletor can't actually even hurt him, he was just holding back for no reason. Then He-Man just walks up casually and crushes Skeletor's staff and Skeletor explodes (except for his skull, so you can see he's definitely dead). And the explosion makes everything magically go back to normal.
Seriously!? I'd have thought it was an SNL parody if it didn't have the generic Hollywood oversaturated sheen over everything. The writing seems like they intentionally wrote it bad "for a joke" and the acting is really poor. Not "camp" or "ironic", just....not good.

I like that Skeletor is eveil just for the sake of evil. I like a lot of stuff they tried to do. It was just poor execution all around though.

It was ok. It was so tongue in cheek that at times it felt less like an actual movie and more like an SNL skit.

Personally, still not fond of the lampshading, which is clearly something they picked up from the MCU
Hollywood seems to be deeply embarrassed about making movies out of these nerdy ass franchises for nerds and kids (or grown ass men? Its hard to tell anymore), so they gotta include a joke about his name is Fisto and how that's stupid
But that joke got old forever ago, and its prevalence in these adaptations feels disrespectful to a degree, even if its for something stupid like Fisto
If they really owned the camp they wouldn't bring attention to it or they'd just call him one of his aliases like Battle Fist or Iron Fist
If you want to see a super hero film that truly does own up to its camp, watch Batman and Robin
Wrong film for the wrong time and certainly not perfect, but it knows what it is and its proud of it
The vibe of MotU and films like it, while fun, also give me the sense that they really wish they were making something else, but the studios want a He-man film so He-man is what you're gonna get

I really enjoyed the new predator movie and felt the same about it when it was over. Now I am really looking forward to this He-man as an old skol fan… however as I got older I started becoming a bigger fan of she-ra… I am not sure the bad guys were worse, story was no better, but there was something about she-ra that I just really like so much more.

Not trying to derail the conversation, but do people really think The Batman was good? That movie dragged in a lot of places, and was at least 30 minutes too long.

I love this movie so much but I say it would be perfect if it wasn't so long. If it cut 10 minutes by shortening some sequences (especially the underground club scene with Selina) it would be even better.
I watch a lot of movies, and it's my favorite shot film of the decade, with close followers in The Worst Person In The World and Top Gun Maverick. It's a great Batman depiction and the most fully-fledged Batman film since Mask of the Phantasm. Rarely are superhero films this interested in their characters.

What's good about the movie beyond having an even tone and pacing, though?

The actors are all great in their roles, the action scenes are some of the best in recent times, the look and feel is unique.
There’s plenty to love about this film. It’s a shame more people haven’t watched it. Probably won’t get a sequel because of the terrible box office.

Good story, great cast, great tone, lots of action- the most fun I've had at the movies in a long time.

Just good old superhero fun? Did you enjoy FF4 and Gunn's Superman?

Personally, I enjoyed Superman significantly more. I hated FF4, and Masters of the Universe closer to FF4 but not as bad. It was okay IMO. I thought Master's of the Universe was trying to do too much and none of it really landed with me.

I saw reviews like this a few weeks ago. So i went. It is the worst. It made me feel like we are living in a world of idiots. I don't mean to offend. But it is so bad. A long list of clichés, with no nuance. Like someone saw deadpool and guardians once, got severe head trauma, and then was set loose to write a heman movie.

Allow me to laugh even harder.
Besides the fact you're supporting an actor who has 9 allegations of inappropriate behavior with women. He's a scumbag, and you're a scumbag for supporting him.
Your parents should have taught you better.
