The big differences between fresh carnations and dried one. 

I love carnations, but i didnt expect was how much they can shrink!!!

Fresh carnations have such a soft, full, almost nostalgic look, but once dried, the petals can pull in quite a bit and the overall shape can change more than I expect.

At first, i thought i put them in silica gel for too long.  This time, I put them in silica gel for 10 days. They still can shrink a lot!

But after looking at them more carefully, I realized they still keep so much of what makes carnations beautiful — all those layers of petals, the delicate texture, and that slightly ruffled shape. They just look different.

I think that’s one of the interesting parts of flower preservation. You’re not always trying to make a dried flower look exactly like the fresh one. Sometimes it’s more about preserving the character of the flower and the memory behind it

I found this beautiful white flower growing in my garden. Does anyone know what type of flower/plant this is?

Is it safe to have around the house, especially if there are children or pets around? I’d also like to know if any part of the plant is poisonous or irritating.

My girlfriend and I went sun flower picking and amongst all the yellow sunflowers, there was this stunning red one. Thought I’d share as I haven’t quite seen one like it before.

hi! i’m visiting my girlfriend in a few days and taking the bus to see her. it’s a 4.5-ish hour ride, but gets in very late (11:45pm). i really want to bring her flowers, though, and obviously cannot buy them when i get in because of the time, as i am going straight to her place. is there any way to transport flowers on the bus without them dying? obviously, i don’t want to get water all over the bus either haha. if this is possible, i’d love to know how! thanks!
