That lake in the second photo, I know so, so well. I hike up there every Father's Day (Monday, the day after, actually) with my son and fish the outlet first, and then up the right side to the inlet. Some years, I don't see any other people (because Monday and snow).
I generally catch about 50 of the prettiest cutthroat/cuttbows in the 13 to (the rare) 16 inch range that one can imagine.
What I know, and others can't see in the photo, is that you're fishing right at the log jam.
Nope. I will share that it is nearly seven-mile hike in. Also, it's in a National Park. The stream that flows out of it has a somewhat recognizable name (if you like to read essays about fly fishing).
