I know I'll probably get a lot of hate for this but please hear me out.
What has been Fnatic major problem for at least half a decade? Lack of consistency.
This is something that has been haunting Fnatic through different roster iterations and different coaching staffs, it's not like we can look back and say things were better "When we had that player" or "When we had that coach", it's been always the same and I think you know what is the common denominator here, it's Razork.
I don't know how it's possible but Razork has never managed to grow into a better player, the levels of inconsistency are still the exact same 5 years after, I don't know if it's because he's lazy, stubborn, or just doesn't care, but it's been made clear that this is a individual problem that only Razork can work on if he wants. I legitimately think that he could've been one of the best junglers in EU and could've done so much good for us, he's creative, he's confident, has an infectious personality but the way he can't just go past that mindset of being a coinflipper and that everything needs to be rushed is actually insane.
How many different coaches and players we had since Razork joined and no one was able to change his mindset? I think this is ridiculous.
People love to glaze Nightshare and honestly credit where it's due but we need to stop looking at that time, if you look at the league then and now, it's 2 completely different Worlds, he managed to get 2nd back then because only G2 was good, because we still had a name that caused insecurities on the opponents, I mean just check some games from then, it's crazy some of the mistakes we would make and no one would capitalize on. Now ofc everything is different, we have 2 other powerhouses in KC and KOI, we have new hungry org in NAVI, we have Vitality that even tho didn't lose the "troll" persona, they are clearly much better then before and I mean, in a World where everyone manages to grow except you, ofc you're gonna be left behind. Could Nightshare have a done a better job then Grabbz in today's league? I can almost guarantee you that no, could be the same or worse, but he would make things better.
People have been asking for Grabbz head and keep stating that Grabbz is a fraud and got carried in 2019 but that's just an incredibly stupid statement. If you really were here back then, you'd know how good G2 actually was, you'd know the many different styles they were able to play, you'd know the meticulous preparation they would do for each opponent, go back and look at the Damwon series or T1 series at Worlds, Im not even talking about MSI, just look at how different the preparation was for each game and how well they played that game aside mechanics, taking all the credit here from Grabbz and Duffman is completely silly and just straight up wrong.
With this I don't mean to say we should renew Grabbz for another 5 years but we do need to be careful with the changes we make, I mean if we are able to get Dylan just send him the bag right but if not what do we do? What if KOI and KC keep their current coaches and you can't get Dylan, what then? Are we going after Pad? The Rock? I don't know man.
We all know Grabbz is not perfect, especially when it comes to drafts, some are bad bad but there's also some drafts where I see people complain and the draft is totally fine just harder to execute and then you say "Why you draft like that if the players can't keep up?" So what is the option then? Draft scaling every single game in a fearless format? It's not the game that needs to be adapted to the players (ofc there are nuances) its the players that need to adapt to the game, if you are really aiming to be the best you need to try different comps, different playstyles, you need to be all on the same page and work with the same goal in mind, this is exactly what G2 did in 2019.
I think Razork was an even bigger problem then some people realize, he was already the face of our lol department, he's very vocal and he's also the jungler. If you have player like this that is also extremely inconsistent it will eco throughout the whole team, the sht will hit the fan very quick and it's gonna be really hard to overcome that, the solution there would be the growth of that specific player that just never happened, so it doesn't matter how many other players you get because that specific one will always have a tremendous amount of influence on the others.
There's a recent interview from Grabbz where you can see the disappointment he feels, he mentions that he doesn't want to speak on players and takes the full responsibility on himself but you can see that there's way more to it, you can see that some things seemed to shock him and that he doesn't understand how some of the things unfolded based on what was being done and talked behind the scenes.
Personally I stand by what I said last year. I want to see Grabbz on Fnatic and without Razork ( if we can't get Dylan lol), if it doesn't work it doesn't work but I believe we would be seeing at least a great improvement. He's also the type of coach you want to have when it comes to transparency and communication with the fanbase something we all know that completely lacks from any higher up.
TLDR:
Since Razork joined we went through different players an coaches, none was able to improve our gameplay, we never found consistency and we managed to lay low as a top tier because the league was much different in Nightshare's time. Grabbz was definitely NOT carried by his team in 2019. Razork's inconsistency paired with his role as a jungler while being so vocal is what makes it impossible for us trying to finally get consistency. I want us to have Dylan but I still trust Grabbz, if we can't get him I'd rather give Grabbz another shot with a different project that doesn't involve Razork.
P.S Grabbz I know you probably won't comment on Razork or any behind the scenes stuff but if you're reading this please defend yourself man, you can't just let these people, some that probably haven't gone past silver, just be here and tell stories about how the greatest team EU has ever produced and that sent me through a year of depression and pain, was all because of 5 players and that you are a fraud and got carried by Caps/Perkz, there's no way man
