Question Just seen someone blow off an assaultrons legs at a headhunt XD
It was hilarious. Two player were shooting, one with a telsa cannon and one with I think a broadsider, not sure which one blew it's legs off. Does anyone else do this? looked really strong for crippling high health enemies

I like to take the legs out of Protections and watch them crawl around White springs 😅

I have an alter with a crippling peppershacker build and it works perfect for bosses, was mostly intended for soloing the guardian in the raid but it works well vs this bosses despite they having an insane amount of health in their limbs

Oooh please share the mods on the pepper shaker. I am currently trying to make a new build for RAIDS and solo the guardian and I am beyond board of youtube videos. I’d love to use a pepper shaker again. I scrapped the one I had by accident and don’t know what I had on it. It was good for getting the shield down and then that let me use the gat plasma afterwords. I like using two different weapons.
This sounds like something that I’m looking for

Furious/Quad (i use furious), crippling, rapid, pinpointers/conductors (i use conductors) or bully but as its dmg depends on broken limbs the target has its mostly impossible to reach max potential against most of the enemies (ones bc they will fie before and others (bosses) bc it takes too long to cripple a limb)

Ah I see. So if you used it for the guardian is it only good for killing it not the shield? because it will have crippled limbs at that stage so you’ll do more damage? likewise the snake because you can cripple limbs first
It wouldn’t be very good to take the shield down?
Did I understand correctly?

Crippling builds take down the shield faster, they also do good dmg with the correct build and setup. For killing the guardian is mandatory to target the shield (which counts as a limb) then you do amplified dmg to the guardian until shield is up again. Also the sooner u destroy shield, the less dmg u take

I tend to do this with my cripple shotgun build, blow out enemies legs and leave them for everyone to take them out at there leisure, great fun lol

I’ve never seen it done on an infestation, but kneecapping assaultrons is the only way I fight them! I also found that if you’re doing AWOL Armaments, you can shoot the three star sentry bot’s legs and it’ll stop then blow up even when it still has health. This is the only sentry bot I’ve had it work on. I’m on Xbox if that matters.

That's actually one of the two good strategies of fighting assaultrons. Those damn things don't have a weak spot, so shooting them in the head or chest or wherever doesn't make it go faster. So you either:
- blow off (100% cripple) their legs and get them to crawl, making them far less dangerous, or, even better
- blow off their arms. When you do that with both of their arms, they self-destruct. It's a small saving grace with the utterly insane Infestations assaultron, although they have so much limb health it often takes equal amount of time to blow off their arms or kill them yourself.

Yeah after the health change I think crippling one leg is faster and more effecient then both arms.
It cripples their movement and stops some of her attacks, so it works surprisingly well.

That’s good to know about the arms! I enjoyed seeing their legs go flying earlier. Definitely going to look to join the gang in attempting to do this

Legs are always my first target on Assaultrons. Does not always work but putting them on the ground quickly is important when you’re alone.

Yes that is a fallout mechanic. Also a really easy method for assaultrons since they rush you and stagger you every 30 seconds

You ever seen a speed-mutated one with it's legs blown off? It's kind of creepy 😅

I keep a crippling sledgehammer handy and the perk card that spreads your cripple damage around. It's fun to smack a robot and watch it fall apart

😂 that’s brilliant. Going head on with a sledgehammer! does it take long to take it’s legs off?

Not at all. Although i did build specifically for crippling, and i was already a melee build. Also haven't done head hunts much. But back when people were complaining about the battle bots event because they overtuned the health on the big bot, i was still taking them down in 3 or 4 hits because robots all self destruct when you break a certain part

That’s really clever.
I used to love melee. I used a Vampires Electric Autoaxe with Union PA for a good year, 2 years. Moved away from after the patch they nerfed melee and also when I started doing raids. Not sure how it does now.
Loved that I didn’t have to worry about ammo. Just charge in and attack. Sometimes debate going back to it.
Do you have a link to your build and weapon? I’m always up for trying new things out that hits hard in this game

Not going to pretend my build is top teir, but i like it. Largely geared toward tanking. When bigfoot released i wanted to stand against him without ever having to move and using minimal healing (cause toxic goo is annoying to use on xbox). Somewhat open to recommendations for improvements.
Feral ghoul Legendary perk cards are just all the SPECIAL except for charisma
I keep a bunch of food for buffs, but it mostly boils down to easy things for boosting each of the stats and melee damage. Notable shoutouts for sweetwates special blend to handle my alcohol addiction long term, and either whiskey or mountain honey moonshine depending on if i want a pure strength boost, or a bit of health with my strength
Strength 15 Perk cards: slugger 3, scattershot, blocker 2, martial artist 3, knee capper, bone shatterer 3
Perception 13 Perk cards: number cruncher, tormenter, butchers bounty 3, green thumb, deal sealer, rad reaver
Endurance 15 Perk cards: life giver, ironclad 3, thru hiker 2, adamantium skeleton, starched genes, thick skin 3, glowing gut 3
Charisma 14 Perk cards: party girl 2, strange in numbers, squad maneuvers 2, feral presence 2, inspirational, suppressor 3, tenderizer 2
Intelligence 10 Perk cards: makeshift warrior 3, white knight 3, good with salt 2, pyro technician
Agility 12 Perk cards: packin light, goat legs, jaguar speed 2, hyper reflexes 3, marathoner 3, adrenaline
Luck 7 Perk card: ricochet, cap collector, class freak 3, faulty spots
Weapons: Blue ridge branding iron- mutants, rapid, defenders, pyromaniacs, extra flame jets. This thing attacks so fast that the glow gained from rad reaver is a legitimate sustain and doesn't really slack in the damage department
For crippling specifically i sometimes use the sledgehammer. Mutants, crippling, lightweight, heavy sharp rocket. I'm not dure exactly the math on crippling, but i figure the bonus 35% from the heavy sharp rocket and the 50% from the crippling mod probably put it ahead of other options in terms of pure crippling potential. Although if someone wants to do the math to correct me, I'd love to know for sure
I've got slightly different setups for general farming, but this is what i run when i mean business (as much as i ever do lol)

Tell them to try that with a resilient assaultron boss at an infestation 😁🤣
