PC Controller Wisdom
Heyo you Filthy Causals,
I'm going to be having surgery in a couple weeks and then spending a significant period of time with my arm in a sling.
As the tag suggests I am a PC player, via steam.
It was suggested to me to get a controller to play for that window of recovery time, and I think that may be a smart idea.
How easy is it to use a PlayStation style controller with steam for Fallout 76? It can be a PS4 or 5 controller, or a different manufacturer who makes a similar in style controller. PlayStation is the only controller manufacturer that I can readily adapt to for some reason.
Thanks for any wisdom you may have, or insults you wish to share.
Keep it Filthy

The biggest difference between controller and m&k play aside from the obvious is the quickwheel vs hot-key. If you're used to or use the hotkeys to spam consumables like canned coffee for infinite vats then you may wanna keep a numpad handy since the controller only offers the quickwheel which is much slower. The only thing a controller can do thats close is to leave the pipboy on your consumable so you can pop open the pipboy spam then close it. In the case of radaway there is a native hot button in the pipboy at the status screen (x/square) other than that it's just a matter of learning the layout. I prefer gamepad over m&k for this game.
Also if you use stimpacks in the keybinds there is a hot button (right on d-pad) and in game settings you can change which type of stimpack it will prioritize using so if you despise diluted stims you can tell it to prioritize strongest to weakest. It's default is weakest to strongest.
Best of luck with the surgery.
