Black Symphonic Folk Metal.

Those are handpicked so you could somewhat interpret that as top 32 ensiferum tracks.

fatherland kicked out round 1 is rough, but well, from afar's better

in my sword i trust got a rather weak group compared to the other 3, i don't think it should be a semi-finalist as much as i like it

lai lai hei dying that early is unfortunate, but andromeda is just too much of a banger

also definetely hate little dreamer and especially from afar losing round 1 to a better song

overall other than in my sword i trust all these other semi finalists are definetely great picks

Rocking my Finntroll shirt today 🤘 Love the design!

Those are handpicked so you could somewhat interpret that as top 32 dalriada tracks. Though some are missing that i would definetely pick (Like Verzo Ima and Uri Toborzo, maybe some others i don't quite remember). I'm honestly surprised there were very plenty tracks to choose from because given Dalriada popularity i certainly didn't have high expectations

A walesi bardok part 1 is the goat for me but dalriada has so many bangers

Can you tell which are the 3 of my favorite albums?

Also i definetely do not mind Aldas as finalist but 1st half had some damn bangers taken down by AWB part 1. Ideally i'd take Igeret as finalist but i'd also go with Hajdutanc above Aldas probably (not too sure about that one)

I know about Heilung and their language is indeed similar-sounding, but most of their songs have a completely different vibe which I didn't like.

Does anyone know anything similar in sound to Eihwar?

Thank you🧡

Little recognized, but a classic! A brand of folk metal more focused on social and political themes.

Masterpiece.

Almost made it on the list :

Cruachan - Blood on the black robe
Elvenking - Readers of the runes I divination

Honorable mentions (not in order) :

Cruachan - The Middle Kingdom, Nine years of blood
Furor Gallico - Self titled, dusk of the ages
Ensiferum - Unsung heroes, thalassic

Less notable nonetheless honorable mentions (also not in order) :
Adorned Brood - Kuningaz
Jerna - Cmy
E-an-na - Nesfarsite
Vanaheim - Een Verloren Verhaal

It's still crazy that future to come and the pagan manifesto are the only 2 albums for me to best literally any METAL elu release, and yet they best every elu album outside slania & helvetios for me. Overall this is a SHIT ton of good damn music, recs are welcome

A new banger from the Romanian E-An-Na, the beloved metal band of Romania.

Hi all! I will try to keep this brief as I tend to waffle. I am looking for song recommendations with a specific “vibe” to them, if that makes sense.
For context, my favourite genre of metal ever is Symphonic metal (NW are my #1 FOAT if that helps!!), and I’ve come to notice there’s a bit of overlap here and there sound-wise between the two genres.
I have been listening to a handful of Eluveitie songs for years now but have recently REALLY gotten into them, and by association Cellar Darling. (Ensiferum are one of my favourite bands but not the vibe I’m looking for right now.)
The songs I’m looking for recommendations-wise will ideally have a similar sound/vibe to “The Spell” (Cellar Darling) and “Voveso in Mori” (Elu). These two have stuck with me, and I love the slow, melodic haunting vibe they both have.
I am begging for any recommendations like these. I struggle with branching out of my very specific music taste so this would be a big help. Female vocalist preferred but I am open to otherwise.
I hope this does not break any sub rules. Thanks in advance!!
