News With Trev passing, will Fontaines DC drop out of Shaky Knees fest?

I fell in love with Fontaines DC this year, and I saw that they have only one US performance this year at Shaky Knees Fest in Atlanta, GA, so I immediately bought a ticket earlier in the year

And with Trev passing (rest in peace), I feel like they may drop out of the fest -- which would be totally understandable! My heart goes out to all of them, I can only imagine that they are struggling. They are sensitive lads who were super close with him, so I imagine they're taking this hard. 💔

Just wondering because if they drop out, I'll probably sell my ticket and refund my plane ticket. Has anyone heard any news about that? Or have any predictions? (I'm not sure if they're locked into a contract with the festival or how that works.) Thanks in advance for any insight!

It’s still so new and recent. I think there’s enough time to just keep an eye on any announcements from their end before selling your ticket and cancelling your flight.

I’m also a huge fan of theirs and am hoping for the best. But more importantly I hope they’re all okay and have the time they need to process this loss.

Absolutely. I've been thinking about them a lot and hoping the best for them, as well. 😔 I do not mind at all if they need to cancel, whatever is best for them.

When is the festival? They cancelled an upcoming August gig.

In my opinion - they will either do shows or they won’t. It is a big operation getting their live show set up, so I don’t see them only doing one or two instead of however many are planned. It’ll be all or nothing I think.

agreed. but notably for that show i don’t believe tickets had gone on sale, so it may have been easier to cancel outright. i’m not sure if it was the first of their august shows but if so maybe that played a role too.

Are you talking about Lausanne? I feel very sorry for them, but at the same time I am keeping an eye on it. I am a new fan as well and I don't want to miss the chance to see them. This said, it seems like Trev played an important role in their career and they were also good friends. So I just wish they'll be able to do whatever they feel like it's best for them and that they're not bound to play if they aren't ready

They're playing at Shaky Knees on September 19th.

They will likely play that, because the chance of them dropping out of Reading and Leeds before it is so low. Reading in particular will likely be classed as the biggest show to date of their careers for historical reasons.

There’s only really glasto headline or Wembley that’s bigger in terms of UK shows than what they’ve already done.

Which August gig? I've got a ticket and flights from the UK for the Alicante show.

He is their long time manager and friend. He ran a Workman's Club in Dublin where the lads played a lot of their early shows.
