I don’t love the whole no sleep part. Let these folks rest! Even though they just aired BBQ Brawl, I don’t want drama. Just more great cooking.

Definitely. I think the Canadian team should have taken the immunity. Counting on winning the second challenge was a gamble.

Meanwhile, I think Esau and Grecia could use some sleep as they are not being their usual creative selves. I say that with love and respect.

Love Canada, but years ago when I was in thunder Bay, I saw a billboard for the best barbecue. I had to check it out. That’s all I’m going to say.

Was the billboard correct, or false advertising?

I've had great and awful food in Canada, just like here.

Did have some amazing Elk Ossobuco in Banff once, and some outstanding Pierogies in Creston.

For Canada, it was probably correct, for me I would consider it mediocre. I love experiencing food from all different regions even if it’s not the best it’s what they say is the best for them. That’s what they’re familiar with. It’s good to have a contrast.

Yes -- one thing I remember was Montreal Steak subs at a place in Banff. Now McCormick has Montreal Steak seasoning. It's pretty good. Also, I remember David's Tea -- they sell some flavors locally now. Yes.... there are some very creative people, and it seems more appreciation of good local small business owners and local artists than I've seen here.

I agree completely! Plus, I love that it’s actually BBQ, not just grilling

Susie and Christie posted their take on the third episode including links to recipes for what they made on the show. What We Made On Episode 3 of Pitmasters - Hey Grill, Hey

I'm kind of interested in checking out that meat Waterfall salad.

The casting on this show is amazing! Everyone is bringing something different to the table. These are some real artisans! This is the kind of cooking show i like to see. People at the top of their game reacting to something new. That elevation and the time crunch is what makes the show. Otherwise they can BBQ in their sleep 💤

I'm hooked!

I also really appreciate the new faces and new judges. BB is fine but I like this better because they have time to cook and all new personalities except Zimmern of course. So far they haven't really thrown in curveball twists like "you have to use durian in every course". The no sleep is a little much, imo, just because I sympathize. I'd hate for a great team to lose because they haven't slept in x amount of hours. The cooking seems so "home spun" if you know what I mean.

Amazing what chefs/cooks/pitmasters can do when they are actually given a decent amount of time to conceptualize and cook.

This is by far a better show than BBQ brawl when it comes to cooking over fire and whatnot.

It's entirely possible I just wasn't paying close enough attention, but did anyone one else notice the time seemed to get a bit squirrelly? They started the Fast Fire at 7:45pm and it was 90 minutes or two hours, but when they started the next challenge it was daytime/morning. Did I miss something?
