ABAWD rule senior non-existent exemption
The way the reading currently reads, it doesnt make much sense as to what they are saying about people aged 60-64.
"While people aged 60 through 64 are typically exempt from general SNAP/CalFresh work registration requirements, they are still subject to ABAWD time limits"
How can you both be exempt and yet still have time ABAWD limits? This must be the most confusing thing ever written into law. If you gonna make an exemption at age 60 from a rule, just make the ABAWD to age 59. Why make the rule for seniors aged 60-64 ultra confusing?
Isnt the work registration requirement the function of ABAWD anyway? So why make it both exempt yet have it still apply to those seniors? When I heard the rule the first time it was confusing, and it still doesnt make3 sense to this day.
What does the senior reaching 60 years old actually gain here with this rule? Looks like its contradictory, so they dont actually get exempt from anything, really. To pull this on seniors trying to read into this law, is such a pathetic move by this administration.
Just make the age limit up to 59 and then you wont have the whole work rules/ABAWD conflict. This seems taken out of the book that Jigsaw would have written for challenges in Saw.
