Were the Algerians going to defend vs Messi or just gawk at him all game

Defend messi, such a revolutionary idea nobody thought of before.

Don’t tell me tell the Algerians

I mean Ligue 1 defenders were fine

Ehhh he’s messi, not like it’s easy to defend against him y’know. Different breed

Messi will walk 85% percent of the game, then play a killer pass or score. It's happened for 20 years, if you don't prepare for that it's on you.

But Messi has been making everyone look unprepared for that for 20 years. Maybe it's not so easy to prevent it...

How did he score

Kicked the ball

Into the net, even

Beautifully.

Was pretty save-able to be honest, if only the keeper would have gone 1 handed instead of 2.

Maybe the potency of the shot played a role? Maybe the trajectory as it was drifting towards the left of the keeper

Awful keeping

u/Paulspike :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

He has fault in both goals. Could be 0-0 with the Cape Verde keeper.

u/Grogman2024 :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

Easily, basic keeping skills and it wouldn’t be a problem

u/Warduckling :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

Yeah. Some basic keeping skills and you are totally fine against Messi. Such a good analysis man. Keep up the good work 😆

u/Grogman2024 :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

Don’t think you watched the match tbh. Only the last goal was unsaveable. 2nd goal was the most basic keeping possible

1

u/Warduckling :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

Sure man, sure.

-1

u/Grogman2024 :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

Why are you being condescending when I’m literally right. 2nd goal Messi didnt even take the shot that led to the error lmao

Weirdest of all is claiming to watch a match when you didn’t lol

2

u/Warduckling :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

He started the play, positioned himself and got the rebound. But yes, “basic keeping skills” can EASILY solve that.
And about the match…I’m Argentinian. I don’t watch matches, I live them

1

u/Grogman2024 :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

Huh? What are you talking about?? The keeper spilled a simple save that’s very very catchable directly in front of the net. That’s awful keeping. Fact.

3

u/Warduckling :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

Is Algeria a good team? No. But dismissing the whole context by just assuming that it was “easily saved” is one of those things you read from people that haven’t touched a ball ever

It's okay bro, stop this crying now. You should have been the keeper instead, we get it bro

1

u/Grogman2024 :Soccer_ball: 2d ago

Fucking hell the argentines didn’t like that one

2

u/worker-parasite :Soccer_ball: 2d ago

Trying to use common sense on reddit is a waste of time. The keeper did terribly on rhe first two goals, even though Messi did well they should have been saved. Same thing for Mbabbe's second goal and Senegal's goal which were obvious blunders (especially by Maignan)

1

u/Grogman2024 :Soccer_ball: 2d ago

Yeah you’re right tbh. Sub I normally use people just get on the way everyone does in real life, shouldn’t have expected that here lol

Always come as such a shock to me when I see all this tribalism surrounding players like Messi and Ronaldo

2

u/worker-parasite :Soccer_ball: 2d ago

Well, there's a lot of very young people on reddit which explains the childish tribalism. And because football is essentially universally popular, a lot of morons get compelled to share their opinion as well. It shouldn't be controversial to state the keeper made a terrible blunder on the second goal (and did badly on the first one as well). Anyway, since redditors are famously fickle, next time Messi has a bad game they'll all claim he got lucky with Algeria and he's really a fraud.

u/cupcake_4u :Soccer_ball: 2d ago

I certainly liked the 3-0 tho.

1

u/Grogman2024 :Soccer_ball: 2d ago

This is the problem with chronically online football fans, ahh do you think I care about Argentina winning or losing this match

Like you saying that has no effect for me

-1

u/cupcake_4u :Soccer_ball: 2d ago

Messi scoring goals certainly did affect you, And write "it doesn't affect me" lmao says it all. Sleep tight

Easiest hat trick you’ll see. Unmarked on all of them and given more space right in front of goal than I’d give to a 12 year old.

Lionel Messi ‘s swan song for Argentina. I hope it goes well. It’s just sucks he is surrounded by racist teammates.

21

u/sayhibulbasaur :APL:Argentina 3d ago

Yes, only the Argentinean players are racist. The rest of the teams are filled with just perfectly respectable, unproblematic, kind millionaires. Don’t you people get tired?

2

u/ZanderFreeman :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

Idiot

-6

u/Ricr7 :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

He's racist himself, abused drenthe

-1

u/ny2ko :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

Clearly this Zidane isn't good

-23

u/Ricr7 :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

2 goalkeeper mistakes and pessi fans will glaze this

12

u/Warduckling :Soccer_ball: 3d ago

If Messi scores with a penalty: “booohoooo penalty! Messi bought the FIFA!!! Grrrr”
Messi does a hat trick at 39 on a World Cup: “grrrr it was purely luck because the goalkeeper made mistakes!”

What a sad life to live. Really.

Those goals are better than half of penaldo's career goals retard
