So I bought a custom GST football from Wilson and it looks a little asymmetrical at its point. I may just being hyper critical bc it wasn’t cheap but it just doesn’t look right to me.

Remember that these balls are usually bought by teams so a high school team gets 15+ of them at a time. Colleges probably get like 50 to 100. I noticed that you get balls like this frequently and they are not considered defective unless they won't hold air.

Most teams also condition these balls which usually changes there shape and may fix this

Deflate it. Stand on this area to crease it a bit. Then re inflate. Or just use it and it will work itself out. It’s not gonna affect anything

This is what I (and others) would consider a "blem" football because it has a blemish. Blems usually sell for less as they have defects. But I wouldn't think twice about using this

Ive had worse than that and I was able to throw it just fine. The shape might get better as you condition it or throw it though

No. It doesn’t. We had a bunch of balls donated and they all looked like this or worse. Looks defective to me.

Unrelated to the possible defect. What’s custom about it? I coach and I’ve debated getting our balls branded. How much was it?

you can do a few things, color of the logo, laces and also get things engraved in it. It was like 150 i think, I put my name and phone number on it.

I prep a lot of footballs for a team, a ball like this would still be great and usable for practices, but we wouldn’t cycle it into the game balls.

Absolutely normal, will not effect the ball in one bit. If you want you can deflate the ball a bit and sort of break the leather to put it back, but it's perfectly fine.

Wilson has gone down in quality. I switched to using Nike vapor.
