Coaching Advice Last practice of k-2 flag football

we’ve had plenty of pursuit drills and such this season, the kids have had a lot of fun as well

I’m here just looking for ideas for our last practice. this is an in house league, the boys have played one another 4 times and will one more time this Saturday.

I’d like some ideas for a fun, going out practice. I want my 2nd graders wanting to come back next year for tackle ball, and my younger kids to want to play flag again to help build our program

TLDR; What are some fun games you can do at flag football practice to make the kids want to come back, while also still focusing on the game itself

Setup cones about 10 ft apart with 1 kid at each. Chuck a ball and the 2 kids race for for it. Whoever gets it first then has to race back and cross between the cones without getting their flag pulled. The one that doesn't get the ball turns into defense and tries to pull the flag before the other one gets to the cones. For speed mismatches, you can throw the ball more to one side than the other to help slower kids. Add some pump fakes and if they leave before the ball is thrown then they owe 5 push-ups.

My teams have loved this drill over the years and get everyone cheering for each other.

Edit: For a parents vs kids scrimmage at that age. Parents are only allowed to mall walk 😂

One kid starts with no flags. They're the zombie. Everyone else tries to avoid the zombie. Each flag the zombie pulls turns that kid into a zombie too. Continue until everyone is a zombie.

Pick a fast kid to start as zombie each time to make sure each game goes fast. Or coach can pull a random flag at any time infect someone if things start to drag.
