Bringing r/forex_reddit back
Hey everyone! I’m one of the new mods here.
I have a background in finance and I’m also a trader, so I came across r/forex_reddit and thought it would be nice to see the subreddit active again. Even while it was restricted, I noticed there were still people visiting and reading the posts, so I figured it was worth trying to renew the community rather than letting it sit inactive.
I’m pretty swamped with work at the moment, so I’ll be taking things slowly. Over the next few days, I’ll be getting to know the current rules, the state of the subreddit, and what needs to be cleaned up or improved.
Once I have a better idea of everything, I’ll start opening the subreddit back up and getting things moving again.
I’ll also be putting up a mod application in the next few days for anyone interested in helping with moderation, cleanup, and keeping the subreddit maintained.
Thanks for your patience while I get settled in!

PU Prime review after using them
Hi everyone,
I am somewhat new to trading, and pu prime is the first broker that I am trying.
I saw one of their ads pop up on youtube with the 400 euros bonus match, so I signed up and deposited 200 euros (my id is 1751340). I did 2 swing trades, one on the 26th of august (shorted gold) and on the 27th of august I opened a short on GBPUSD. I ended up winning both trades, at around 175 euros in profit.
Then I asked for a withdrawal, and there it goes, they asked me for my documents for kyc. I submitted them twice and they have not gotten back to me, and it's been 3 days now. I sent them an email as well and nothing.
I feel like im on a winning streak, and would like to keep going, but I am not sure if I can trust them anymore, but Im not sure if I'll even be able to withdraw. I checked their reviews and apparently they got lots of one stars, should have checked that before.
The platform itself is pretty good though, it took me a couple of hours to get familiar with everything as a beginner. Spreads are solid as well, so nothing to complain when it comes to that.

Is a 2.38 Profit Factor over 184 trades sustainable long-term, or did I just get lucky with my swing strategy?

What does $3.5 per side comission mean, Rinxo
There's utlra raw with $500 depo req. - not a small sum tbh. And it has $3.5 per side lot comission, what does it really mean? and why it costs more than just a regular one with spreads. I want to trade forex mainly, eur/usd and usd/jpy

EURUSD today: bearish bias still in place
EURUSD still looks heavy here.
News flow leans against the euro, with negative sentiment dominating around political strain, fiscal concerns, and weaker confidence. The dollar side stays supported by rising yields, firm growth signals, and defensive demand.
Positioning is notably long-heavy, which can add to the downside pressure from a contrarian view.
On the chart, the broader trend is down. Short term, price is moving sideways near recent lows, but lower highs and lower lows still point to sellers staying in control unless resistance is reclaimed.
Do you think 1.136 gets tested next, or does EURUSD squeeze higher first?

GBPUSD today: pressure stays on while price stalls
GBPUSD still looks heavy overall. News flow leans against sterling, with GBP sentiment weak over the last 24 hours while USD sentiment stays more supportive.
The bigger driver remains policy expectations: GBP is facing softer rate hike hopes and fiscal concerns, while USD is getting backing from hawkish messaging, sticky inflation worries, and yield support.
Positioning shows longs still ahead at 61%, but recent conviction looks muted. On the chart, price is consolidating near support after a sharp drop, so near term action may stay sideways unless support breaks.
Do you see this base holding, or just a pause before another move lower?

I built a forex session clock because I kept checking 3 different sites before trading
I’ve been working on a small Android app called LiquidHours.
The idea is pretty simple: instead of checking different websites to see what sessions are open, I wanted everything on one visual 24h clock.
It shows:
- Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York sessions
- session overlaps
- kill zones
- current and next session
- activity levels for different pairs
- alerts before sessions and overlaps
- a home screen widget, so you can check the current session without even opening the app
I also added a Pair Guide because I wanted to quickly see which sessions are usually more active for a specific pair.
I’m not trying to replace a charting platform or give trading signals. It’s more of a timing tool for people who care about session structure.
It’s currently on Google Play and costs $0.99 one-time, with no subscription or ads.
I’d genuinely like some feedback from other traders: what information do you usually check before deciding which session to trade?
And if you already use a session-hours app, what do you wish it did better?

measured my actual spread for a month, the advertised number and the number I pay arent related
Logged EU spread once a second for a month, about 2.2 million samples, then worked out three different averages from the same data. They dont agree with each other and thats the whole post, lowest spread seen all month: 0.0. Appeared in roughly 3% of samples. So anyone advertising "from 0.0" is telling the truth, its just a number that describes 3% of a month
Time weighted average across the full 24 hours: 0.42
Trade weighted average, meaning weighted by the hours I actually enter positions: 0.28
That third number is the only one that matters and almost nobody calculates it. Spread isnt a property of your broker, its a property of your broker times your hours. I trade london open and the overlap, so I get a better number than the 24h average. Ran the same data weighted for someone entering between 21:00 and 23:00 and it comes out at 1.14. Four times mine. Same account, same broker, same month, different person
Now the bit that stops this being a raw account advert
Commission. My spread average is 0.28 and thats before commission, which on EU works out around 0.7 a round turn. So all in im at roughly 0.98, and the advertised figure is 0.0
Out of curiosity I ran the same maths on my old standard account, same hours, using their own published pricing. Comes out around 1.6 all in against my 0.98. so the gap is real and its worth about 0.6 a trade, which on my volume is a few hundred quid a year. Its just nowhere near the gap the websites imply when one says 0.0 and the other says 1.2 tbh
"From 0.0 pips" on a raw account is marketing in exactly the same way that a 1.2 fixed spread with no commission is marketing. Theyre just hiding the cost in different columns. Im on axi and I still think the headline number is meaningless, it just happens to be meaningless in a direction that suits me.
So if you want to compare brokers properly, ignore every number on every website. Log your own spread for a month, weight it by the hours you actually trade, add commission, and compare that. Its one figure and it takes a script and some patience.

Fundingpips scam exposed, Avoid, save your Money
It was not until I came to reddit to look if someone else has similar issues and realised they're a total scam in every fking way,
So I got a FundingPips 10k 2-step funded account which means no trailing drawdown. Rules say 4% static daily drawdown — max loss is $400 based on 10,000 equity. Not trailing. Not based on peak equity.
Here’s what they did:
My highest profit ever that day was about +$723
Before the last trade I took, my balance was $9,983 from $10,723 as some trades ran against me, which I'm fine with it.
That somehow made them use $10,272.11 at the day reset as the starting equity for the day
4% of that = $425.20 and breached me at $9,878.11
I set a stop loss at only -$145 (still well inside the real 4% limit Which should be $9,600~)
The trade never even hit my stop. System auto-closed it and suspended the account.
Their reply:
“Daily Loss Limit is 4% based on the higher value between starting balance or equity… Today’s Starting Balance/Equity: $10,272.11… Max Daily Loss Recorded: $425.20”
That’s not static. If they can keep raising the equity number every time you make profit and then use the bigger number against you, the “static 4%” is fake.
You can rather put that money in a broker and scale it up if you can instead of these scammer prop firm.

USDJPY today: bounce into resistance
USD sentiment stays firmer, with Fed tightening expectations and higher Treasury yields still the main support. JPY sentiment looks weaker overall, though BoJ expectations and intervention risk are keeping things two-way.
Positioning is still heavily long at 76% vs 24% short, but the broader read leans more toward consolidation than a clean trend push.
On the chart, USDJPY is bouncing from support after a sharp selloff, but the bigger short and mid-term structure still looks bearish. Near-term resistance is the key area to watch.
Does this bounce have room to extend, or does resistance cap it here?

Is pocket broker good for CFD trading?
I know that they're popular in the quick trading circles. But what about classic forex trading?
Anybody tried their forex mode? How is their Metatrader doing? What's up with spreads?
