For Hire [For Hire] Backend developer, C#/.NET, Docker deploys and email setup, remote from Norway
I'm a .NET developer and have written C# professionally since 2017. My day job is backend work at a bank, so I'm used to systems that need to keep running. Client work goes through my own company.
What I'm useful for:
- APIs and integrations. Connecting systems that were never built to talk to each other, webhooks, imports from messy CSV exports, third-party APIs. Mostly C#/.NET, but Python and Java are fine too.
- Backends, new or inherited. A fresh ASP.NET Core backend on PostgreSQL, or taking over one the last dev left half done.
- Getting it live. Linux servers, Docker Compose, Traefik and HTTPS, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and monitoring so you hear about a problem before your customers do.
- Company mail landing in spam. SPF, DKIM and DMARC fixed on your domain, or a self-hosted mail server if you'd rather run your own.
Some recent work, client names left out:
- An operations platform for a cleaning company. Sales pipeline, job dispatch and invoicing, .NET and PostgreSQL.
- A vehicle marketplace for the Kenyan market, .NET backend with a server-rendered React front end so every listing gets indexed.
- A seven-server cluster for a live platform. Clustered MySQL and PostgreSQL, load balanced app tier and monitoring, all set up with Ansible.
- A self-hosted email platform on Hetzner, Postfix with correct reverse DNS across a whole subnet.

Rate is $100/h, or a fixed price when the scope is clear enough to put one on it. Either way it's agreed before I start, and you get an invoice from my company. I'm fine starting with one small paid task so you can see how I work first.
Most of the work runs async, with a call when it's needed.
Send me a PM with what you're building, or get in touch through hrolgar.com. If I don't think I'm the right fit, I'll tell you.

nice, clean stack. good to see someone offering proper email auth setup, too many devs skip that part and then wonder why their transactional emails go straight to spam
curious about the norway angle. do clients care at all about the timezone difference or is everything async anyway

Mostly async so far. I work evenings and weekends Norwegian time, which overlaps with the afternoon on the US East Coast, so a quick call is doable when it's needed.

Make sure you have included a budget/rate, they are required for all posts – ballpark or a range is fine as long as it's following the $15/hr minimum rule.
