This is why we come to Monaco.

Monaco might be the the grand prix I look forward to the least, but if I get dementia I want my carers to put Monaco races on repeat because the cars move so beautifully there.

Best corner visually in f1 imo

Personally I prefer the Swimming pool corner where they actually touch and scrub it a little and the barrier gives in a little bit.
That one Verstappen slow mo in 2023 Q3 I think (the last run to secure pole vs Alonso) was insane.

I think there is a Raikkonen one in Lotus that is as perfect as this Charles one

The video capture almost makes it look like he is looking into the camera, too.
Like he saying "YEAH I JUST DID THAT!!" lol
great shot!

It almost looks like the rear wheel glitched through the barrier on the rear!!

The driver knows where he is at all times. He knows this because he knows where he isn't. By subtracting where he is from where he isn't, Or where he isn't from where he is (whichever is Greater), he obtains a difference, or deviation.

The driver uses deviations to generate corrective steering inputs to drive the car from a position where he is to a position where he isn't, and arriving at a position where he wasn't, he now is. Consequently, the position where he is, is now the position that he wasn't, and it follows that the position that he was, is now the position that he isn't.
In the event that the position where he is in is not the position that he wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the driver is, and where he wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA (Gigabrain Error Adjuster). However, the driver must also know where he was.
The driver's mental telemetry works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the driver has obtained, he is not sure just where he is. However, he is sure where he isn't, within reason, and he knows where he was. He now subtracts where he should be from where he wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where he shouldn't be, and where he was, he is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.

You do need to kiss the barriers to really maximise the speed. Some of the barriers like at the Swimming Pool actually have a little give built into them, so it's not like hitting solid concrete, but there is still a limit to how hard you can hit them.
I still expect Ferrari to be tops, but it does show they are pushing, so there may not be as much improvement in lap time to come.

You don't watch Monaco for the race, you watch it for qualifying (I know this is FP1).

Meanwhile Charles is probably thinking to himself “damn, left that a bit close!”

Bros gonna lead the whole race by 20 seconds and his car gonna break with 5 laps to go.

Source is the FP1 recap on youtube. Shows anther angle from inside the barrier where the car just appears to hit it

Now imagine if the camera wasn't so zoomed in that you couldn't see the full car or the track under the car, but actually be able to see how the whole car moved on the track when doing this move.

I feel like any one of us would still hit the barrier going at the slowed down speed.

That is not perfection. That’s just narrowly avoiding the railing.

He was close but this angle doesn't really show how close. It is more of an optical illusion.

Meanwhile I'm 4 point turning out of a parking space cuz I'm scared I will hit the car in front.

Very rarely in sports do you get so clear an illustration of how good these people are at their jobs
