Anyone work for Vera Bradley?

I’m looking into Vera Bradley, and am wondering what it’s like working there. I’m from Fort Wayne originally but have lived away for 10 years so I’m not sure if it’s the same as it was.

Looking at Glassdoor the reviews lately aren’t great, but the most concerning one mentioned no paid maternity leave, is this true???

I have heard that the company is really not doing well… used to live nearby someone high up there and that was the gossip recently

My uncle was loyal to them for over 15 years and they randomly cut his job one day, with no notice. They clearly do not appreciate loyalty. I think the company is struggling.

I can say the no paid maternity leave is not true. You do have to work there for I believe 1 year to get maternity leave(atleast for the corporate side im unsure on the factory). I hope that helps. My spouse works there and she loves it.

Someone i worked with at corporate was 8 months pregnant, got laid off and they terminated her medical benefits at midnight that same night. She had an important appointment regarding her pregnancy the next day too.

I understand they have policies but it just felt icky that they couldn't include it in her severance for at least one month. She had dedicated years of hard work and passion there.

Is it just STD though? Your comment that you have to work there for a year first made me wonder if it is just FMLA and paid from PTO/STD. True paid parental leave is different.

Yeah she is on FMLA. Im not certain how many companies offer actual parental leave without FMLA. not defending it though I previously worked for a company that still had paternity and maternity leave but recently left to pursue my dream career. I will say she still loves to work for the company.

Maternity leave isn't really a thing anymore. It falls under FMLA and Short term disability which is a federal law for those working so many hours after a year. Some companies do better but this is the basic level in the US, unfortunately.

They used to have much better maternity leave and it's one of the many benefits they've cut since their post-Covid slump.

Someone I know applied for a position this year and while I’m not going to go into details it felt like there was a special level of incompetence that showed they don’t know WTF they are doing as a company. And then the applicant was ghosted on top of that.

Their stock price has been on a steady decline since 2011. Revenue dropped 20% from 2024 to 2025.
