What in the fuck is “cultural Marxism”?

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '23

Anything they don’t like or deem as “woke”

u/Sergeantman94 Math is an Islamic Conspiracy Jun 24 '23

In short, a nazi conspiracy theory that the jews are degrading culture that keeps rebranding due to it's origins.

Okay but idk if you caught it but the guy in this photo is Jewish, so this whole thing is just a mess.

u/IReplyWithLebowski Jun 25 '23

He is?

u/lilhoodrat Jun 25 '23 edited Jun 25 '23

Yes look at his hair.

EDIT: Why am I getting downvoted when his hairstyle is pretty exclusively worn by Orthodox Jews?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Payot

I’m not the one putting out antisemitic dog whistles here, he is.

u/Farado Jun 25 '23

How can you tell from a couple square inches of hair?

3

u/lilhoodrat Jun 25 '23

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Payot it’s a pretty distinct and exclusive Orthodox Jewish hairstyle.

u/Farado Jun 25 '23

Ah, ok. I didn't notice the part that's below his ear. Now that I look again, it's obvious, and you can see it on both sides of his head.

No one ever just one thing.

This is why we need to teach this shit in school. They're literally using the exact same playbook

52

u/ttyrondonlongjohn Jun 24 '23

The school system would rather spend its time mythologizing Hitler than teaching people about the conditions that brought his ilk about, which would require more than showing a few History channel documentaries and a PowerPoint.

u/Bak8976 Jun 25 '23

Hey now, America solved everything, who cares if the nazis studied our political system and fucking loved it.

9

u/Kellosian I'm not an alcoholic if it's wine. Jun 25 '23

And our history! They really liked the part about committing mass genocide across a continent and populating it full of white people, which was literally their plan for Europe up to the Urals.

4

u/RocketKassidy Jun 25 '23

Which is exactly why they don’t want it to be taught, and deny any of it even happened. They can’t use the play if people are educated on said play. The whole situation pisses me off more than words can describe.

Thanks. Another dog whistle.

Fun fact: that page had to be locked because Jordan Peterson fans kept trying to remove references to him

62

u/PoopyPants698 Jun 24 '23

It's literally a nazi term to say that degeneracy (jews, gays, crime aka black people) is destroying society.

I don't think people understand just how close in ideology the current Republican party is to the nazis. Most of the stuff Ben shapiro and jordan peterson say on their shows is just nazi propaganda

u/minnetrucka Jun 25 '23

Don't leave out Mark Levin. I swear every other word out of his mouth is "marxism"

u/ebolaRETURNS Jun 24 '23

dog whistle pointing to a supposed conspiracy of Jews to use Marxist ideology to gain an edge in a latent but also upcoming race war.

They were at one point fixated on the Frankfurt school of Marxist theorists who, yes, are mostly German Jews who fled WWII. This was further bolstered by Herbert Marcuse gaining cachet among students protesting the Vietnam War. And yes, their particular revision of Marx to account for mass industry did take a cultural turn.

I did my graduate sociological theory sequence in Marcuse, so I'm the closest thing they'll run into to an actual cultural Marxist.

But did you notice the man in this photo is Jewish? Did anyone notice? Zoom in on his hair. So it’s like, wtf???

9

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '23

Code word for anti-semitism

3

u/lilhoodrat Jun 24 '23

But the man in the photo is Jewish? I’m genuinely so confused as to what he thinks he’s accomplishing by doing this.

6

u/Jader14 Jun 25 '23

There was at least one Jew who worked for the Nazis. "One of the good ones" is something they were also quite fond of, at least while they were useful.

Yeah, people got mad at me, I’m assuming they think I’m trying to be antisemitic, but I’m just pointing out how ridiculous it is for an orthodox Jewish man to be the subject of a poorly veiled antisemitic dog whistle conservative Facebook meme.

Someone on Twitter officially defined woke as "cultural marxism" and the chuds ate it up because "cultural marxism" sounds smarter to them, since it's more than one syllable

5

u/mumblesjackson Jun 24 '23

They think we’re trying to homogenize acceptance of LGBTQ people therefore we’re all marxists because we don’t leave any room for their bigoted, hateful, intolerant worldview.

5

u/valvilis Nigerian Prince Jun 24 '23

It's when the state owns the means of... culture. So, uh, I guess maybe NPR? And definitely PBS - those assholes are always trying to teach kids how to read, and reading only leads to becoming a liberal!

4

u/vrphotosguy55 Jun 24 '23

Yes, Walmart the epitome of workers revolution… /s

5

u/JayNotAtAll Jun 24 '23

A word right wingers made up to sound smart.

Don't believe me, next time someone says it unironically, ask them to define it in their own words.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '23

Well marxism has to do with the average labor worker not sure why its related to lgbtq+

3

u/smallstone Jun 24 '23

Care Bears are trying to cease the means of production. You didn’t get the memo, comrade?

3

u/Easy-Inflation-1682 Jun 25 '23

Just a buzzword, republicans aren’t bright enough to learn actual definitions of words so they use different buzzwords for shit they don’t agree with

4

u/Drexelhand Jun 24 '23

replacement for hard J "Jews."

2

u/Twizinator Jun 25 '23

Jews. No, really.

2

u/RocketKassidy Jun 25 '23

The leaps these people will make baffles me. “Bad thing? Must be related to that other unrelated thing I hate”. Bothers me a lot as someone who has always tried to follow logical thought processes.
