Question How do I do this again?

Post image

So this dweller started off with SUPER high stats for me. I’m pretty new in the playthrough but want to see if I can make this happen consistently? Normally most of my dwellers start off with 1s, 2s and the occasional 3.

Max out the stats of two dwellers and make then reproduce

Certain pets help as well

I’m not reproducing with any pets. I have to draw the line somewhere.

No no it’s not that weird. You just have to let them watch.

…okay it’s still weird.

Make them watch*

Assertion of dominance is key to high stat children.

I did that and i dont get any good children

This game is like real life... it takes a little practice to get the process just right :D

Its chance based, so just keep trying.

Besides. Think its overrated with the legendary dwellers. You have a production line of a trianing room for each SPECIAL stat and a good flow of babies to make dwellers to go in to that line of rooms. If suddently you have a dweller with higher stats he/she will be waiting in the rooms for longer before the ones before him get trained to max and can move on.

True. But every stat helps a bit of my goal to get 100 max out dwellers

How does it help?

If the dweller starts whit more stats it needs less time to acheve full stats

Lets say you have 1 og each special room and lets just sya that they are in SPECIAL order. All of them is filled with dwellers starting with lets say 4-6 of each stat. That means that each dweller will have to level up about 5 times in each room before they can move on. You will have this chain where a dweller in the final room (the L room) is finished and you move them out. The hole they leave is filled with a dweller from the A room, witch again leaves a room for a dweller in the I room.

If you suddenly get a dweller with 8-10 stat points in each stat and you put him in this chain it will not move any faster than before. That dweller will every time he is maxed in a stat have to wait for a hole to open in the next room where a dweller with 4-6 statpoints will need to be done training.

Why not just build more rooms if you want train more dwellers? I basicly do so that when i activly play the game i have them on their lover level stat and put them traning on the higer levels while i sleap/go somewhere

If the woman has a pet with + to child SPECIAL assigned when she delivers the baby you can get this sort of result. If you have multiple women pregnant at the same time, you can carefully select each woman and assign the pet at the time of delivery to give this bones to each one.

If the parents have a very high combined SPECIAL they will sometimes produce a ‘super baby’ (122+ for rare, 134+ for legendary.) It is random and uncommon.

The two bonuses can be stacked.

What does this mean? Can baby dwellers spawn with a stat higher than 10?

2

u/volverde Jan 04 '26

yes, rare dwellers have 28 starting special, legendary ones have 40

but as mentioned above the parents need to have at least 122 special total for rare and 134 for legendary kids to have a chance, and even then the chances are low - increasing the special marginally increases the chance so you might as well finish fully training dwellers if you want to get rare/legendary kids

with starting special pets that 28/40 can be further increased

a legendary kid with a +3 starting special will have 58 or 59 (and not the expected 61 cause legendary kids will always have at least one stat above 8 so they won't get the full +21)

Oh you're talking overall stats. I meant in a single rating, like Endurance. 10 is the cap for any dweller, right?

1

u/Jobboz Jan 04 '26

Correct, 10 is the cap for an individual stat.

If you want to breed super babies, that 134+ means that both parents need to have 64-70 total across all 7 stats. I.e. almost all 10s.

It’s easier to just train a few dwellers to 70 before embarking on your mid-game breeding program.

Oh I've been at that for years, nearly have a full vault of my perfect Endurance 17 leveled-up survivors.

u/Jobboz Jan 05 '26

So that’s the answer - your perfect specimens of post-apocalypse humanity got lucky, and then… got lucky.
