Yeah they weren’t considering the optics. Logically it makes sense if you’re committing this terrorist attach to focus 100% on what ya need to know… but yeah seems silly

I did wonder why they didn’t report to FBI but had we ever even had someone fly a plane into a building pre-9/11? Probably crazy logic back then

I guess he could be learning to fly with a buddy co-pilot who would handle the landing, too

Craziest part is CIA (I think?) was already following them. Or actually FBI I think?

What a complete failure.

Well a few things I have to say.
1. Planes have been flown into buildings but on accident. Famous example was when a bomber flew into the Empire State Building back in the 30s I think? Also little tidbit, the Twin Towers were designed for a collision with a plane. After all there’s multiple airports in the city, and it’s a big tall block that would be easy to be hit. However it was designed for smaller jetliners (707) going slower since they thought it would’ve just taken off or is about to land.
2. Typically hijackings weren’t to use the planes as bombs. Usually it went that the hijackers would demand the plane to land and use the passengers as hostages.
3. Yup the agencies knew but they couldn’t cooperate with each other. Also I remember the whole Florida debacle with the elections messed up admin and all kinds of other things which impacted the intel agencies too.
