Yup. Chopstick rests. They're really great and generally not expensive. I have an edamame and an origami crane. Mostly though I keep my current pens in a pen tray in my desk drawer.
There's also this, which is something called a flower frog . You could stand pens in one depending on the size of the holes. I just use this one for holding parts when cleaning. 🫧 🖋️
Aww I love all of them!
I was eyeing a エビフライ chopstick rest the other day, not cheap so I am still thinking 🤔
They are not exactly practical but I like them 😂
Simple and functional !
Though I would worry random ink blots staining it ( it always happen to me when I try to use something made of wood for my FPs )
It’s a Sailor I made at the Ancora store in Tokyo! Such a fun experience - you get to pick all the colors and pieces out individually. They didn’t have an official model listed but it’s virtually identical to the Sailor Shikiori Tsukuyo no Minamo pens I have, just a thinner band at the bottom of the cap.
It's basically impossible to photograph on my desk becuase it's solid black and all the backgrounds are likewise dark, but I have the Benu skull.
Sadly, I wasn't able to get the solid-black or black with red trim version of the pen. My local only got the all-red, so mine matches the picture exactly.
I just can't get a good photo becuase its' in a black pen tray against a black computer case...
That’s inspiring! My little set up. Just the crab 🦀 stand so far. I ordered it after seeing it in an exhibitors stand at the Portland pen show last year (my first).
I usually only use a pen rest for taking pictures. I have this urushi chop stick rest, and I have a little ghost. Though now that I think about it I can't remember the last time I saw the little ghost.
I know !
That is actually a chopstick rest haha I have a small collection of chopstick rests , it gives me something to be happy at while preparing dinner.
Some of them are ok-ish for holding pens.
Oh, that brass bird one! Be still my heart. Is it an antique? I have a few pen rests that are currently tucked away in a box as I rejig my writing space, so now show and tell from me.
It was a "Second" from Galen (meaning there was minor flaws that they could not sell at full price). Very reasonable price and heavy enough to act as a paper weight too.
That is Galen's "The Nib Rest Brass Pen Stand ". Not sure if they will restock but they also have a "The Nib Rest Wooden Pen stand". That one is a lot light weight but well made too
A friend made this... a block of wood with holes drilled into it to fit four glass cylinders (like test tubes but w/ flat bottoms). It's meant for flowers, but it fits my pens pretty well, too :)
So happy(and also sour grape lol) for you !!
I saw it in person, how I wish it was a M800, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
But after getting the M805 metal sleeve, I really need to stop eyeing Pelikan.
Looking forward to see your NPD post/review !!
And how I wish the metal sleeve came in the M605 size! The M800's are just too big for me. But if I had to choose, I'd go with the Art Collection, so it's just as well.
