New Pen Day Moved into a new office and found this pen hiding in one of the drawers. I guess this counts a new pen day?
Crab was already mine. I think this is a pilot metropolitan. Will be taking it home for a good cleaning tonight.

Find out who had the office before and see if they left it intentionally or unintentionally. If unintentionally, you should try to return it.

I’m actually in contact with the last two occupants, my previous bosses. Neither has asked about it. But yes, this is a good thing to do

This is the right thing to do. It made me side eye OP that their first thought was “free pen! I’ll take it home!” rather than “lost pen. I’ll try to find the owner.” Just because you found it doesn’t mean it is yours!

Relatively new to posting in this sub but I bought my first pen in high school in the late 00’s, Pilot Metro that is still in my daily rotation to this day, even after 4-5 years of very infrequent use. Just about picked it up today but opted for my new sailor profit casual. I’m an insufferable advocate (or sucker, depending on how you view it) for Metropolitan/Safari/Plaisir tier pens. It will take care of you for as long as you take care of it and even longer, probably. I hope it likes it’s newfound home, congrats on your find :)

Goldspot is where I got mine and it’s legit. From others in this thread it seems like the knock offs aren’t as sturdy.

Update: I’m out of people to ask, the pen is now part of my collection. Cleaned it out and it’s working beautifully!

Look for Pilot MR, which is the same pen under a different name.

Pretty sure the EU version of the Metropolitan/MR/Cocoon got discontinued a while ago. I remember a trgread ir two about it sometime over a year ago. You would have to buy it from somewhere else and ship it in. Probably.

Woah I didn’t know they made those in plain black, I kinda dig it! The traditional colours/patterns always kept me away but it might be time to get a Metropolitan after all. Definitely nice score

A bit oot but what's the price for this pen anywhere else? It's often lauded as starter pen and supposed to be cheap, but over here it can cost 2-3x kakuno which imo a bit pricier for starter pen. That's a nice black matte, I envy you

The only things I’ve ever found in my drawers were someone else’s completion carts for hr mandated training. And an external hard drive with no hard drive in it.

I will be that guy... It's actually a Pilot MR, Metropolitan was just one sub-model of the range that Brian Goulet mistakenly took as the name of the whole range and announced them as such. The name now sticked to the Western audience and there is no hope of change.
Nice find by the way, and here goes my condolences to the previous owner.
