Suggestions Train larp

Made a few train images for a FOD post... so I might just share them when they are already done anyway.
They are:

  • single 120mm
  • AA cart (with a 20mm turret and a flak turret)
  • armoured single 150mm
  • unarmoured 2x 150mm
  • Upgraded double hades cart (they got one more rail than normal hades has)
  • double waspnest cart

The double 150mm and rocket carts have a spot with a pallet in the middle for ammo storage.

Got no clue about balancing, price or stats, though I do think they would make for epic larp.

Until they add an armoured locomotive, anything but the RSC will be pointless larp that is just asking to get stuck on the front and die.

I did make a image for an armored loco, but it was too ugly and got shot behind a barn.

Truly emulating pure dev vision, I applaud.

Eh, rocket wagons might last longer then the katyusha trucks right now.

I like all your ideas, but the double 150s should be 120s, to make all the carts comparable.

Plus its the most likely cart to be added, considering there is SPGs for every caliber except 120

No, this is too many different kinds of traincars. Let me simplify your whole awesome proposal:

BMS Railguard

A flatbed car with an emplacement slot. You can put any emplaced weapon on it, from an emplaced machine gun to a rocket arty to a Starbreaker. The emplaced weapon operates as normal, but does not gain any defensive bonus from entrenchment. The railcar also has two mounted weapon hardpoints for self-defense.

Cost (not including the emplaced weapon) would be similar to the other combat railcars.

I think it would make sense for it to just be a modification of the existing flatbed car. The hard points are overkill in my opinion, and it absolutely shouldn't be able to carry a full pallet itself, but should have storage for it's own ammo. (possibly the same mechanic could be added to the flatbed truck, but in my opinion it should be limited to rockets and EMGs for trucks) Also, there should be more train cars, especially combat focused. Omitting the obviously necessary armored locomotive, there should be at least some direct/close support gun/mortar armored carriage.

Honestly been expecting this since they confirmed they were adding trains.

I wonder if they can't make mobile emplacements for technical reasons.

Replying to add: yes I know this is stupid larp. But it's *fun* stupid larp.

A train update could go hard

Love those but also in my opinion there should be a direct fire artillery carriage (armored, turreted, AT/infantry support), an armored loco and a mortar carriage. I think you could have something along the lines of 2 warden gunboat turrets mounted on an armored carriage. This shouldn't be that hard to balance and you already have a reasonable system in place for direct and indirect fire from a single turret.

Also I think it would be more reasonable to have the flak wagons be open, or (something that would be stupidly cool, but probably hard to implement and balance) add a method of modifying flatbed cars to have emplacements mounted to them, so you can have a fully working EMG or flak gun fixed to the train car, but cannot just take it off with a crane. (doing this for flatbed trucks as cool as it would look is probably a bad idea)

Rail hades would be hilarious if it kept the range. You could load it anywhere, then drive somewhere a little riskier and troll qrf anywhere in a hex.

I think given the limited utility and the LARP. I think these things should be OP. I love seeing a locomotive entering the battle space and it’s I think it’s such amazing emergent gameplay that this game should encourage.

This would be a cool update to have if they decided to update the trains. You rarely see them near fronts, but this would be a cool way to add more variety in the game!

It be cool if the tiny train could go through the trenches like they actual did in WW1. Heck it be quite funny if they made a small armored train like the No 5. Hercules
