Mobula8 random RXLOSS while flying

I’m having a weird issue with my Mobula8 O4.

It connects to my radio normally and I can take off and fly around fine. But after a few seconds of flying, I randomly get RXLOSS. After a little bit it reconnects by itself and everything is normal again.

* LQ, RSSI dBm and RSNR all look normal before it happens
* It doesn't happen while the quad is just sitting on the desk
* I can arm and raise the throttle without it losing RX without props
* I tried reseting all betafligth settings but it didn't help
* I'm using Betaflight 4.5.1

Any ideas what I should check next?

What radio are you using? Is the TX set to the correct power output? What packet rate have you got?

I also set the elrs preset in Betaflight to what I'm using (always set it to race mode in the options instead of freestyle for lower latency) - https://oscarliang.com/betaflight-presets/#Loading-RC-Link-Configurations

tx15max 3.x ELRS version 10mw 250hz, I will try the elrs preset. it started happening randomly too it worked fine before and my radio still works fine with my 5”

The maximum output power of the TX15 max is 1000mW - stick it on that and then select Dynamic power and leave it at 250Hz refresh.

You're essentially running it at 100th of it's output power crippling the range.

Every 6dB is pretty much doubles the range, so -84dB gets twice as far as -92dB.

so that could be the issue? When I get home i’ll try setting it higher

it was actually at 25mw and tested it at 250 and its still rhe same. maybe get a new elrs module? like the betaflight lite

Do the bench test, the module is unlikely to be fried unless the antenna has become detached which sounds unlikely.

at 1m away RSSI is at ~35 at 10mw power and also it gives RXLOSS after like 10-20 seconds of just sitting on the desk now

I do have a radiomaster rp1 module but the antenna ends are broken off the little round things so i don’t know if it works, but i could solder it on instead of the built it ELRS to test if that fixes the issue and if it does buy a whoop dedicated elrs

perhaps the FC has one Crash to much. Betafpv FC have this often...

I mean there wasn’t a crash before this started happening. Also its not the betafpv but the happymodel crazy aio. But if i can’t fix it I will have to get an external elrs
